Much depends on what, or who you are looking for. A friday will have a surplus of single guys. Saturdays are couples only in most clubs. You will need to join wherever you go and take suitable id with you.
OurPlace4Fun in North London is cosy and intimate. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think being quite small makes it easier to strike up conversations.
Abfabs, near Heathrow, is a large sprawling club. Lots of places to wander through, a pool and dungeon play area. Needs to have a lot of visitors to give it atmosphere. Some complain that couples tend to keep with their friends, making it appear difficult for new visitors to get into conversations, but I think that is down to each individual.
Try posting in the main forums, with a date when you may attend. You could find other couples who are going the same evening and willing to say hello. Whatever you decide, do go and take it all in. The clubs are for me a fantastic and liberating experience.
