There's a JD Wetherspoons in Leicester Square, I went there one night after finishing working at a film premiere. Not a bad pub either, decent food as expected from a spoons.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I was hoping for more than just a wetherspoons when visiting the big city (no offence to wetherapoons lovers out there).

TGi's right next door, reasonable prices, Bubba Gump heading toward Regents Street also not a rip off

Haha, no worries pal. Spoons is just cheap as chips. There's plenty of other places round central London. Nando's, TGI Friday, Frankie and Benny's etc.

Don't eat round Leicester Square - it's full of chain restaurants.

Head north over Shaftesbury Avenue to Soho and check out some of the places on TripAdvisors Cheap Eats Restaurants in Soho. Lots of ideas and diverse restaurants - you should find something to suit you

NW London

If you like steak try Flat Iron in Soho. For BBQ go for Bodean or Meat Liquor also in Soho.

For Cantonese Can't go wrong with Wong Kei in Chinatown or for authentic Schzeun try Bai Wei also in Chinatown.

For Japanese try Bone Daddies in Soho.

Haywards heath/Waterlooville

Try Cookhouse Joe, half rotisserie chicken, salad and chips for £7.

It's mega busy, and in Berwick Street.

I used to eat here for lunch every week
