Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Is it me or have they gone up in price loads. I stayed at the Travelodge near Kings Cross last year and paid £105 for two nights. It now costs £190 for two nights (for Jan 16)!

Does anyone know a halfway decent hotel that won't cost me my firstborn, between Kings Cross/Kentish Town and Alexandra Palace? I want to catch up with some sexy London fun times.

. Ealing Travel Lodge is £42 pounds a night and half an hour on the central line to Central London. I have just checked the Travelodge website .

I thinks it's just the location and time you're booking it for. I stayed at travel lodge a while back and paid a lot less, just below £100.

Are you driving or relying on public transport and cabs when you are in town?

May make a difference on choices where the cheapest place to stay will be.

I don't have a car so always public transport. I would prefer to be close to transport links.

I stayed at the United Lodge last time but they've hiked their prices too. And I am not sure why January is considered a pricy time to stay - no school hols and after Christmas would make you think hoteliers would be looking to offer some bargains.

_yrdwoman, have you tried comparison sites on hotel's in the area you will be staying in for a few nights by any chance?

just a thought really as sometimes the adverts on tv or the internet bring it up..

Prices definitely been hiked up within London city and with the holidays coming up its set to get even more pricey. You better off looking at hotels on the outskirts like Canary Wharf or towards Heathrow

They're the only sites I use. Maybe I should contact hotels direct to see if they are willing to cut a deal.

I see, have you then tried finding a hotel some where which is a few minutes down the road where you plan to stay? who knows you might just come across some where cheaper without even knowing it?

either way best of luck in you're hunt.

I checked hotel's recently in london and they were Ll alot more expensive than I remember.

Try serval comparison websites and blogs heck the total price including train fairs.

Sometimes it is cheaper to travel on a cheaper day and stay Nd extra day rather than traveling at peak times.
