What's the easiest way to get to Kestrels by public transport? How much is a cab from Heathrow?

No idea...always drive.

I've heard people say they can get a bus from Terminal 4, or walk it.

Call them, there's a number of there's website.

black cabs from Heathrow are hugely expensive, use a local minicab company or stay at Travelodge T5, Abfabs run a free shuttle to there

You can walk it from T5 not from T4. There is also the 441 bus route from both Heathrow central and T5 which passes close by.
