Hi all,

Wondering how many of you lovely London fabbers are into table-top gaming?

I play a fair number, including some miniature games, Magic, several deck-builders and a variety of other games.

As a DM, I approve of this tactic. It won't work, but I approve of the attempt.

*gives party a bag of holding*

Bagman is stuck inside the bag as long as someone is under the table giving support

Good topic. Also a fan. Perhaps a small group social at a board game cafe one day.

K: I normally DM but if I play I normally make sure my character has Conjure Animals ... Got to love killing stuff by dropping 8 cows on top of them from 40ft up

Not even on a Nat 20 with inspiration?

Maybe then, though I tend to scorn the idea that "nat 20 is an automatic success irrespective of difficulty".

Watching a player roll a 20 and think it means they have successfully persuaded an unpersuadable guard to unlock the door is funniest when followed by said guard smacking them in the face with a pike.

I would love to learn how to play Magic of gathering? Tried the mobile version but I absolutely hate it.

Can you recommend places where I can drop by and watch the game unfold!

Depends on what area in London. There are:

Dark Sphere Shepherd's Bush

Geek Retreat Holloway

D20 Uxbridge or Watford

Rule Zero in Stratford

There are probably a lot more than that; check comic book stores, as there are often playgroups associated with them (I believe Calamity Comics in Harrow has a group associated with it too).

Yeah I've seen calamity comics store from the outside, I may pop in one day and ask! Do they sell manga/anime content there too?

If getting into Magic, you're best looking at the Commander format, which is the more casual, multiplayer way to play that tends to be easier to get into as it uses singleton rules (you only need one of any given card).

Never did get into this myself, but I am heavily into Arkham Horror LCG, which is it's Cthulu-verse equivalent.

Decide on a flip of a coin, heads v tails - outcome depends on who's giving or receiving

Gotta agree with that. I mostly only play Commander format, as that way I only need one copy of each card for my deck, and they don't 'rotate' (which would mean you need to replace them). Even with that, a deck can cost upward of £100. Prebuilt decks bought for £40-45 aren't cheap. It's a great game, but it isn't cheap.

My partner and I are huge D&D nerds but love a good board game too. A kink friendly D&D group sounds like a lot of fun though.

I'd be up for that, as the bard said to the cleric.

Haha, as one keen to learn D&D, partaking would be a pleasure.

D&D has been my pit, 17 books, minis, paints, 3D printer, DMs bag, lots of dice!

And now T has got into D&D and even Blood bowl.

One of our friends wants to teach me Killteam!

As a DM if I was given sexual favours it would change from "you can certainly try" to "how can I say no"

My dice collection is ever growing. My favourites have to be my rainbow Cristal chonk or my Dad's original set from the first edition red box, though those are mostly for sentimental reasons lol.
