Hi I just wanted any advice on attending a social as a single guy.
It’s something I would really like to do post covid lock down.I am just really nervous about waking in a pub or bar to meet people that may all possibly know each other ???.Am just worried As I would feel like would be gate crashing or something...
Also is there’s list of some sort or do you just kinda show up.
Sorry if these all sound like silly questions but just trying to get some info...
Cheers |

There is usually a thread on here.. you need to comment on it to be added to the list or message the organiser (for STP for example). Then you wait for the location of the meet to be sent over via pm nearer the date.
There will be people who know each other from previous socials but also lots of newbies. It helps to get to know someone before and ask them to walk in together, or meet before hand or let organisers know you are nervous and need a bit of introduction. Usually they are helpful and welcoming !
Some people will only stick to those who they know or people they want to say hello to.. you can easily notice these little groups and navigate your way elsewhere. you will be fine!

Some great socials organised through site.
A good way to meet and get to know fellow fabbers face to face in a relaxed safe open environment.
Unfortunately not happening for a while but as mentioned above keep an eye out on the London forum. |

London particularly has some really good socials, I'm not just saying that cos I'm biased...haha!
As mentioned above, when advertised the host will have a guestlist and the venue is only given to those on it. There is always a friendly face or five and as a host I always introduce newbies to others who I know will 'take them under their wing' and allow nerves just flutter away soon enough.
I too, very much miss the socials and am soooooo looking forward to being able to see others when the situation allows.
Look forward to seeing you at future socials

You're welcome, and exactly that just message and comment on the forum when thread goes up, most of us will put something on our status too, so add to hot list so you know when things are advertised is a good way to know
