hi guys .

Found a lovely place in Canning Town its close to work and has many plus points .

Is the area better than it was before? I'm worried about the area .

We have lived in fulham for years and I know it won't be as nice but hoping Canning Town is getting better .

Thank you !!!

It’s not as nice as Fulham. But it’s not horrible and the prices should be lower so you’d get better value for your money.

Canning Town is up and coming, way better now than when I lived there but still rough around the edges. There aren't many good places to go out locally, but it is well connected.

This is true.... but Canning Town specially city island is a good place to live in.

Canning Town tube station has a separate exit for folk from the city island development

Lots of new developments and gentrification in the works. Will be a great place in a few years, for now it's fine, there a few nice places if you know where to explore, but don't expect to wowed straight away. Expect to travel a bit for days out and treat it just as 'home base' for now. Really good transport links, and see it as an investment before the gentrification is completed and prices shoot up. I'm still local ish to it, and have seen the changes taking place for the last 20years or so. Not having such a long commute will be a bonus too. Good luck OP, and remember it is what you make of it.
