If you were an animator working with extremely large files that you needed to download or upload then possibly you might need wired broadband (fiber). But majority of people will be fine with standard wireless broadband. Mobile broadband will be fine if you can get a 4g signal but this can have intermittent speed and connection issues. Plus you have to factor in many other people using it at same time. |

If it's simple Word/Excel stuff, you can check the file properties for size before you send them.
1Gb per day is likely plenty for general office stuff.
If you are using AutoCad or MS Acces or even Excel files with pivot tables/macros then file size and broadband usage will increase.
Best bet is to contact your internet provider and ask, after you've been working from home for 3 days.
Most are ignoring limits at the moment, unless you are streaming videos, so shouldn't be an issue.
It's the overall speed that's a pain in the ass at the moment |

Most of my stuff is general admin atm. 4g has been ample speed and bandwidth for voip calls. Data usage has been max 4gb per day, I think.
Different kettle of fish if I need to do actual hard work and move 100gb files around the world! |
