Construction and driving jobs seen unaffected yet
Driving a truck so I can distance myself fairly well from people
Construction lot of men and women crossing paths on a site
Would have to be fairly stringent rules on site from now on
We will overcome this and we will come out the other side stronger and I think a very different community that will take values and caring very seriously |

"But he’s not sick and he’s expected to work ! What can he do ?
Try and protect himself as best he see fit for him and his family. " well aren’t we all doing that ! Should we all just down tools ? I’m in construction too and until the government says different .. I’m still going to work |

There are thousands of one man/woman shows in the country like plumbers, electricians, stone masons, plasterers, digger drivers, etc. all working for themselves on small jobs and can often have 100m between them and the next person that should be able to work away Not everyone works on the massive sites. |

Until the government tells them to stop or the company says stop, it's not easy. They won't get financial help to pay bills.
All works will have massive fines if deadlines not met too. Some will put small builders under, leading to loosing more than just livelihoods.
So government needs to say they have to stop, then deadline fines and other issues stop. Until then, they're fucked if they do and fucked if they don't work. |

I closed my business 10 days ago because of the risk. I don't say it lightly to anyone about stopping working. I know how hard the decision is . If you feel you can continue safely then I applaud you and wish you well . Stay safe |

I’m a mechanic and we’re still opened as we’re classed as being essential as we do a lot of trucks etc, some people aren’t happy about it is you could be carrying the virus or whatever but at the same time things need to be kept on the road, we just have a lot of precautions put into place |

I'm a sole trader. I've stopped and no income come in for 5 weeks as I was away doing volunteer work before returning a week ago. I walked back into this. I looked at my bank today. The future looks very uncertain but whatever happens there will be thousands more far worse off.
We all need to help those we can as we can.
One thing is sure, situations like this can bring out the best in many and we'll all be thinking how we live differently after this. |
