The real reason why Northern Italy has become the epicenter of the corona virus in Europe is- For the last decade the Chinese mafia have been very quietly buying up artisanal leather manufacturing factories in Northern Italy.
So most of the high end Italian leather goods nowadays are made by literally thousands of indentured Chinese workers, mainly from Wohan Provence living in the Lombardy region. These indentured workers have no rights, if they complain they are put on a plane and sent straight back to China.
There were daily direct flights from Wohan to Milan and other regional airports in the Lombardy region, ferrying these same indentured workers back and forth, hense why Northern Italy became the epicenter of the corona virus outbreak in Europe.. |

Italy has the second highest average elderly population in the world.
The family way of life means that the grandchildren live with the parents and grandparents and thats the main reason the country is getting hammered.
The grandchildren had no symptoms and passed it through the elderly population before anyone knew much about it.

I don't think a a container load fabric manufactured in China that has been several months on a ship in transit to Italy would be a likely source of transmission for a respiratory virus.

They have the worst death rates for normal influenza in the whole of Europe too.
50% more deaths than the UK despite having 6 million less people.
Its true they do have an aging population due to low birth rate, but thats only part of the story. I believe their lifestyle/food/family living, is not conductive to survivng things we survive. |

Our climate isn't harsher? In Northern Italy it's 40 degrees in the summer and you can ski in the winter. Ours is mild as fuck in comparison. |

I work with a guy from Canada who says that our weather is shit compared to Canada as there they have definitive seasons whereas here he tends to get coughs and cold all year round |

Its well known that there is a very large Chinese community in Lombardy. Some reports say covid 19 was brought to the area when Chinese migrants returned from China after celebrating their new year. The time frame does seem to fit
Im not saying im 100% right but am struggling to find more credirable explanations. |

The above isn't a dissertation written to pass an exam, and you as sure as shit aren't my college professor. So I would suggest you just do the research, and verify the facts for yourself.
Covid- 19 is a highly infectious respiratory virus that can only survive outside a human or animal host on hard surfaces for less than 72 hours. It arrived in Ireland in the lungs of people who traveled on aeroplanes all breathing the same recycled air.

Even if this were true it would still not explain the severity of the outbreak. As has already been said it's down to the elderly population and the high contact levels the young have with them. |

Northern Italy have a huge Chinese population which is a direct link to the industry. The spread of the corona virus was mainly due to the large numbers of the chinese people going home for the Chinese New Year and returning to Northern Italy after the holidays, carrying the virus.. Nothing to do with gangs off any discription.

They have been doing that for the last decade (info readily available) and yes they employ a large number of chinese people for said factories.
However, Italy is being hit hard for a number of reasons,
a) They have the highest elderly population in europe
b) Multigeneraltional households. When schools started closing down etc the kids were left at home with the grandparents
c) They treated the schools and everything being closed as some kind of holiday and didnt practice social distancing and went on with life as normal
d) Over 49% of those who have passed (rest their souls) all had 3 or more health conditions, these included high blood pressure, copd, diabetes, heart disease, lung conditions etc.
Hence why we and every other country need to be attentive and take extra care and practice social distancing, washing our hands, stay inside as much as we can and not be around vulnerable people who are at serious risk with this. No hugs, no kissing. yes its hard but there are people in hospital right now who are suffering and the frontline staff are working around the clock doing all they can and the least we as the public can do is follow the guidelines set out.

This thread (opening post) shows the same attitude as Trump calling it the Chinese virus, the underlying tone is xenophobia. It doesn't help at all to fight the virus, it only makes it worse, spreading hatred.
Yes we will have to look for the reasons why the outbreak exploded in some countries first, namely to learn from it rather than blaming others. The answers will be multifaceted and not just 'look these are the culprits'.
It's a pandemic, which is worldwide, we're all in the same nightmare and we only get out of it when we fight it together. |

The thing is this about the climate is even at the same time in winter despite the temperature being lower in Italy its colder here in Ireland. Our air is damp and moist mixing that with lower temperatures and a Atlantic wind it’s colder!
I seen me in America and the temp was -20 degrees. I could easily hi angle walking around in a jumper and t-shirt. When I got back to Ireland The temp was -10 and it was freezing - with a coat on this time!
The humidity is also a factor! |

Climate has very little impact on covid 19 spreading.. Its rampant in Italy and Spain because people are packed together in cities like sardines.. 1 catches it they all do.. Look at Ireland the bulk of the cases are in the cities Dublin and cork. No surprise there the more densely populated the area the easier it will spread |
