10 Things more acceptable in modern Ireland than Ethical No Monogamy:
1. Drink Driving - drinking 10 pints and driving home from the pub.
2. Partner Assault - men or women continually assaulting their partners both physically and mentally.
3. Drug Dealing - your son or daughter selling drugs
4. Class A Drug taking - taking cocaine, ecstasy etc.
5. Adultery - cheating on your partner behind their back
6. Not supporting your child financially - so many single parents out there going it alone raising a child without the support of the other parent.
7. Church/Religion - supporting an organization that has caused so much evil and hurt in Ireland.
8. Welfare Fraud - Working and claiming social welfare hence defrauding the state.
9. Insurance Claims - claiming for a fake injury, resulting in a large settlement financially.
10. Sexual preference - being lbgtq is far more
acceptable than being non monogamists
Change your thinking, we occasionally have sex with someone other than our partner, we have the trust and connection to do this, it enhances our relationship and makes us closer. Don’t judge something that causes you no harm and is not illegal. |

I think the only things on your list that are more accepted than ethical non monogamy are No. 7 (sadly) and No. 10 (which should of course be 100% accepted). I don’t know anyone who would think the other things are acceptable in any way, shape or form. |

Ya this list is completely wrong in my expericance...
There is s difference between something like swinging having a bit of a shock value and being a bit titilating and something being unacceptable and condemed by people.

Oh and I have to say having number 10 on the list compared to all the other stuff feels a bit out of place to me |

This is, so true done even see how a fair few things on this list would be more acceptable than a swinging life style. If it is then they aren't anyone I would associate with. And somethings on the list shouldn't even be there like no 10. People's sexuality is their own business and certainly shouldn't be in a list like it's something to be ashamed of. |

I'm not offended at all.
Just giving my opinion in the post
I just happen to disagree with you.
Just because something happens more it doesnt mean its more socially acceptable. |

"The last one has no place on such a list.
The others are all about choice. I hope we're not now suggesting that the whole lgbtq thing is just a choice for people " of course its not about choice, this list is about what your family, peers or public think is acceptable or not and in how you live your life.

I just don't see why you'd put it on such a list. It's completely out of place but it's your list so there's that. |

I referenced that because it shows how far we have come, 30 years ago it was against the law, still plenty of homophobic people out there currently but things are hopefully changing.
Perhaps someday the stigma of being non monogamous will change in a similar way, that is all. |

I genuinely don't think the stigma of being LGBTQ+ and non-monogamous are comparable.
I think, and maybe this is just because everyone in my life is quite liberal, that most vanilla people think swinging is maaaaaaad and that they could never do it. I don't think they see swingers as perverted or broken or disgusting in the same way as homophobes often see LGBTQ+ people.
I've told people about my life style and that I've had sex in clubs etc and not once have they gasped in horror or never answered my calls again. They're mostly just delighted to hear all the scandal and ask 5 million questions. |

I am coming from.
Its also possibly a generation thing. |

I think you're right, there's definitely a generational barrier to some degree but maybe not as much as you'd think. I suspect that people might be more open and less judgemental than you'd think. |

dont think so, theres a reason most couples want to keep it private in fear of being judged. Theres also a reason behind the post in the first place.
However, at least with things like blasphemy and sanctuary happening, the younger generation definitely seem to be much more accepting. |
