Whats the generall view on returning race goers from Cheltenham
Jump to: Newest in thread
I believe they were selfish putting their own interests ahead of their family and the Irish nation by bringing back a possible serious outbreak of Coronavirus. They partied and congregated very close together, ignoring all the good health advice. Then posted their happy insulting pics to the rest of us intelligent people who adhered to all good advice.
A good solution would be to cart all those who went to Cheltenham and bus them all to spike Island for an indefinite period till the risk is no longer a problem for the rest of us mature citizens who heed good advice. |

That is a a separate issue and a good point, you should put up a separate post regarding that. I put a specific question up which you have not answered and went off topic. |

Yes yes, spains death toll has doubled as has Italy's. Better to be safe than sorry, and if the returning racing fans don't like it then tuff as they brought it on themselves with their reckless actions in not heeding advice from HSE before traveling considering there was an outbreak and confirmed case of coronavirus in Cheltenham before they traveled. |

The following was quoted on MSN
No need to say anymore.
"And, in these dire times, as the world battles desperately to stave off this terrifying pandemic, the biblical approach seems darkly relevant.
This is the plague of locusts, taking on different forms and shapes, including that of beer-swilling Irish Cheltenham racegoers who confuse social distancing for any Festival winner of more than two lengths". |

"They should be put into forced isolation for 3 weeks

And they should take a long hard look at themselves whilst they sober up "
So 4 weeks then.... |

"I don't think e should be giving out about the uk or other countries attitude .just look at temple bar .AN other cities here over the weekend ." that temple bar video was groups from the uk over on stags and hens but alot of cities pubs were busy. Pubs have been advised to close but if no complete lockdown comes today you could have some publicans leaving people discreetly in side doors for paddys day tomorrow.

"What about all the parents who let their kids go skiing in italy during the outbreak . And let them back to school on arrival home "
I am puzzled why you put those comments here as they are a separate issue. Why not post a topic on it. This is a post about Cheltenham racegoers coming back here. |

To be fair now, conversations in normal life can diverge from their original starting point. His post was adding context and you're not really going to encourage conversation if you start getting that picky. |

And expect more confirmed cases in a few days
It wouldn't kill you if you guys stay home. Otherwise, next Italy or Spain. They have ignored it and went for social events. Thats why you have lots of cases. Plus, if you count people with long illness and who have weak immune system, count 2+2= increase in deaths but they will say its corvid. Nope. Corvid just activated and speed up their ends
Tjis is the fact.
My dad is in the risky group. We have came back from Ireland, been tested and all of us had negative result but we will stay away for next few days just in case.
Its getting crazy around the world but if we keep washing our hands, use the hand gel and iif possible staying home for a while to minimize the spread, then less work for the public services, incl hospitals.
I just read the GP clinics been closed here. Why? Their help will be needed. Hospitals are full and now, where gp clinics are closed it will be super busy and definitely it wouldnt help |

Yep this was completely ludicrous decision making clearly money was doing all the talking here honestly every single one of them should be put in quarantine for 2 weeks weather they are showing symptoms or not |

Cases already popping up from those that went to the event, and more are sure to follow now - plus all the people that they have infected. Staff from a shop next to the racecourse have gone into self-isolation in the past couple of days as well. The tap will soon be opening on this problem now. |

Yeah its all over the place that people have come back from cheltenham positive for it, and yet again one of them is a health care worker who went back to work. True heroes right there.
The thing is, people from Ireland could have traveled already infected no real way for us to know, and it will take 7 days for us to find out, which means we wont know how well social distancing is working for a good while yet.
All we can say for sure is that it was reckless to go. |

They went simply because as Cheltenham wasn't called off officially ,they would lose flights ,hotels and other associated expenses of the racing festival , personally l did think anyone that did travel were selfish assholes and only thought of themselves and their pockets , Cheltenham will be on next year but maybe they and more of the likes of them that went may not be around to go . |
