BBW. What's it to you?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Since I joined here I get a lot of guys writing to me about being a bbw.
But isn't bbw just like curvy, where everyone has their own definition and nobody really knows for sure what it means.
So I guess this is my long winded way of saying what does bbw really mean when you overthink it as much as I am now?
I've never been offended by someone calling me a bbw but I hesitate to say I am one. I'm 5'1" and a size 10-12, admittedly overweight but still pretty average.
P.s. I'm asking because theres a thread asking for opinions from fellow bbws and I didnt know whether to comment or not. For context. |

As far as I knew BBW was big busted women, maybe I'm very wrong but that's what I though, oh and by the way 10-12 is NOT big girl, I'm a 5'1.5" and would like to be 10-12, it's all about being comfortable and confident with who you are. Beautiful |

Oh, I really thought it was big beautiful women. As in women who carry a bit more weight. I've never heard it referring to bust size but maybe I'm wrong.
And I'm definitely a little overweight and I have not a single problem with it haha I'm still fine!
Thanks for the compliment and info though x |

Sorry any guy calling you a bbw needs to go to specsavers .
Going by Google anything from a 14 upwards is a bbw.
Wonder how many women text men and say oh I've never been with a bbw guy
The sooner we stop using labels the better.

From my understanding BBW is beyond curvy, so you wouldn't be a BBW, you're a curvy, nerdy goddess.
Lads who call you BBW possibly have an unhealthy idea of what a BBW actually is, as in, anyone over a size 8. |

I’d say that in terms of calling oneself a BBW, it refers to being a big beautiful woman.
Size 16 is meant to be the statistical average size however if you are 5ft and a 16 you’ll look bigger than say being 5ft10 and a 16.
Be who and what you want to be, label it or don’t. As long as you are body positive everything else is irrelevant. |

I am what would commonly be called a BBW, and I have curves for days. I've no problem being described as such btw, nor do I have a problem admitting that I have fat btw, but I'm definitely not beyond curvy |

"Technically bbw is meant to mean big beautiful woman. But it’s very subjective. I for one don’t care about labels. Once you’re happy and comfortable in your own skin. "
Quite right and the trouble about labels is that quite a percentage of people here have no idea what they mean. |

I absolutely detest the word bbw if a person uses that in a sentence towards me I delete it
No one in life needs to be categorised same goes for bbc HATE IT.
We’re all people with our own bits irrespective of size colour nationality etc why label it! |

Loving all the suggestions to bbw. I am classed as fabulous on here which is definitely over the average.
Actually I really like that description as it makes me feel sexy. Unfortunately media has programmed people into thinking we should be a certain size.
I like being bigger so I'd say just be yourself and enjoy life!!!!!

Lots of people on here love the term bbw but even on this thread people are cringing at the term "overweight", and are falling over themselves to reassure the OP she's *not* a BBW - which tells you all you need to know about it.
There's nothing wrong with being fat or overweight, so no need to cringe, and no need for a fetishizing euphemism like BBW to cover it up either.
I absolutely hate the term, if someone finds fat women attractive, they can just say beautiful or sexy or whatever - there's no need for a separate category to describe the desirability of fat women.
To me, it basically means "you're fat but I'm still attracted to you anyway!" No thanks. Move along. |

Great sex comes from the mind. Body shape becomes irrelevant in the heat of the moment. Initial attraction to shape or form is a natural phenomenon but we are generally attracted to those comfortable in themselves without even knowing it. Relax and enjoy. Happy fabbing |

Thanks for the responses so far! Just want to say that I am definitely and absolutely overweight. I'm curvy and overweight. I'm not putting myself down when I say that. I'm stating a fact.
I'm not offended by people calling me fat/bbw/overweight because I don't think being bigger makes me less than anyone else.
I understand you guys are just trying to be nice to me by saying that I'm not overweight and I appreciate that but please don't blow smoke up my ass haha
I'm fat and absolutely gorgeous.
And if you feel that you need to convince me otherwise to accept finding me attractive then maybe question why that is... |

We weren't but I was going to lay out why I thought he wasn't stating facts and I felt like that would lead to a back and forth that I don't want to have with him.
I've already said my bit about being overweight and how I accept it about myself and he came straight back with repeating that I'm not overweight at all. Just because I'm a 10-12. I'm only 5'1". Being a 10-12 means I'm a few stone overweight.
Some people here I will happily discuss and debate with and some people I won't. Just don't like being told what I am by someone who has never even seen in person as though my scales and I are mistaken. |

Oh I completely understood your opinion of yourself and really truly I don't want to argue with anyone when I said that your not overweight that was just my opinion and its kinda based on my weight which is embarrassing tbh but if that's wrong in your view then I completely accept that if I enraged you at any point then my apologies it certainly wasn't my intentions |

I can't help but think it doesn't matter one bit what size they were, they were all beautiful women.
It seems to me that the 'beauty' industry and social media have too many women chasing the perfect size, but one size does not fit all.
Personally I see beauty in lots of different shapes and sizes of women and the sad truth is, if you're looking into a womans eyes and can only see her dress size you're looking at the wrong eyes. |
