It's been cancelled 4 times already only.... Probably going to be cancelled the fifth time with this Coronavirus.

Will this fight ever happen?

"Who gives a shit about the lower weights anyway."

The higher weight classes aren't what they used to be, only 2 or 3 challengers at heavyweight, Jon Jones has a monopoly at LHW, Izzy is going to do the same at middleweight, Welterweight down to Featherweight is where the strength in depth is at

The lower weights have gotten more interesting because better fighters are more willing to travel down to them cause there is a bit more money there, but they are boring to watch when you know you could snap them over your knee and people like conor cant even ko some old man at a bar, thats how light they are.

I know the heavier weights are a bit stagnant too, but the whole of UFC is going through stagnation if you ask me, they are trying to build super fights, stadium fillers, and its stagnating everything.

You made some good points there but I disagree that it's stagnating as a whole, the women's weight divisions are starting to get down strength and depth.

Plus the trend in MMA I'm general is that fighters are starting to stop cutting weight and going up weight divisions. Plus whenever in the last 4/5 champ-champ/super fight happened, the majority of the wins came from lighter weight divisions (cornier moving from LHW to HW, Nunes v Cyborg, Cejudo v Dillashaw, McGregor v Alvarez)

Don't get me wrong, I miss the old days where it was mohawks, tapout shorts with barbed wire and flaming skulls. But I think the sport is so much more technical now where fighters have an overall game instead of being specialists in one martial art.

Plus everyone streams it these days so no need to form out

I appreciate technical fights more so with the bjj and i know a lot of people who wouldnt have the first notion about bjj would be screaming he/she just lying on them i think its more the theatrics and the like that has turned me off. I miss the old days were there were a couple of big shows a year, the card would be stacked full of magnificent fights and you didnt mind the ppv because it was worth it.

Love the BJJ aspect myself, look up a guy called Chase Hooper, his BJJ is just slick, used a mounted triangle to get a TKO in his last fight. Just realised Maia is fighting later too.

I totally get what you mean, between following Bellator, ONE and UFC every weekend in 2019 got so boring and didn't have much as a hype, but the cards for the BMF and Colby v Usman was staaaaaaaacked

As for the thrash talk/theatrics, I like them when theres genuine beef of quick wit about them, like Chael Sonnen was a master of it haha
