...... I’M SICK to the back fecking teeth of the ongoing bullshit/hype and panic that we’re all going to die and we’re all doomed! Will you all feck away off with the pish you read on fakebook and social media from the gossip mongerers....” oh my God, wee Sadie in Ballygobackwards has the Corona virus because she touched a dirty packet of polo mints!”.....”it’s all to do with the mass launch of 5G!”.... what a load of bollox!

Get a feckin grip the whole feckin lot of you. Wiping your hands is something we should all do regularly and not just in times of mass panic.

We’re not like Italy either. Italy didn’t heed the warnings like us here in Ireland and do the sensible things like not shaking someone’s hand or kissing strangers in the street.

Keep yer feckin drawers on the lot of you!....

Rant over.....

Peace out.....

I haven't heard a single person say we're all gonna die. But...

1. Lots of people have asthma and other conditions that they are right to be concerned about. If you don't recognise this then maybe you should be more aware of the health privileges you have that allow you to not give a fuck, be grateful for them and have some compassion for the people who don't.

2. Hundreds and hundreds of people have, in fact, died. To dismiss this and the response to it as bullshit is not only disrespectful as fuck but also dumb as fuck.

3. People are frustrated by the massive disruption to their everyday lives and anxious about the indefinite duration, which is also completely fair.

4. Lots of people who ordinarily struggle with anxiety are feeling the collective stress and it's worsening their mental health. Again, check your privilege here.

5. I for one am so fucking bored of the people rolling their eyes because those are the people who will spread the virus and inevitably, if indirectly, cause the deaths of others who are trying to stay safe.

There's no need for panic, I agree that it doesn't help us in any way. But there's much less need for the blasé "I'm so above this" attitude.

The word pandemic seems to confuse people. All it means is that the virus spreads easily, not that it will kill us all.

A study on psychology shows that if you get caught up in panic buying, you have an idiot mentality

It's more to do with the crowd mentality of those who start it. They're basically causing the problem they're trying to avoid.

It's not. You are wrong.

I did a massive shop yesterday and I'm not one for crowd mentality at all. But I have a basic understanding of supply and demand and as a parent I don't have the luxury of being a pretentious judgey asshole. I need to feed the kid.

You're an idiot if you panic buy.

The supply chain is not what it was 15 years ago when shops had their own stock room, full to the brim of stuff. These days their stock room carries just about what they need for that one day and the rest is stored somewhere cheaper.

This means if supply goes up, the shelves HAVE TO GO EMPTY, but this does not mean the shop has run out of the product, it just means go back later or tomorrow.

I leave near about 4 or 5 tesco size stores, its nothing but big truck after big truck pulling up and refilling the shelves. Place looked ransacked last night, thismorning went in first time, it looked like any other day.

Its basically impossible for shops like tesco to run out of stuff, and considering that we are changing to the delay phase it will now be impossible for them to close, even if one of their staff members reports symptoms they will be told to stay at home, and everyone else will be expected to work, they all wont get 15 days off work. The shop wont have to shut for a deep clean either.

So all people are doing is making it difficult for people who NEED stuff today to get it.

As for handwash etc, you should have soap anyway, dirty scumbags.

But you're only in this situation because of those who started the panic buying in the first place.

And yeah, I am a pretentious judgey asshole at times but I'm working on it

True. But rather than slag them off on the Internet I'm just trying to be compassionate and understand that everyone is just doing their best here. None of us have been in this situation before. So maybe not being an asshole and thinking you're better than them is a more helpful approach.

I'm not calling anyone an idiot though, human behaviour psychologists are.

All I said was that psychological studies show that people act more stupid when they go along with the crowd.

Anyhow, This bores me now.

Might catch you on another thread sometime

I'd tend to listen to the expert's who study infectious disease's rather than someone on fab tbh. They have stated it is something to worry about and could affect people with compromised immune system's that's cancer patient's, cystic fibrosis, severe asthma sufferer's and elderly people. We may all be fine but someone else may not be so lucky.

Yes. And as we all know, it's a real mark of intelligent independant thought when a person hears "study says" and takes its as irrefutable fact. I wonder if there's a study that measures the quantitative "stupidity" of those people...

This is great news! My only concern is - how long will that daily restocking last? I honestly know nothing about retail so I'm not pretending to. All I do know is that I can't be sure that my local shop will be restocked in the morning. But I can be sure that my child and granny will want to eat. So I have to do what I have to do to take care of the people who need me to.

"”it’s all to do with the mass launch of 5G!”.... what a load of bollox!"

Well, actually, here's a video documentary that says it isn't a load of 'bollox'.

https://www.facebook.com/100003347914929/posts/2740680339386870/?sfnsn=scwspwa&extid=U6cUl9NYRsEiwdvI

It details the side effects 5G has on people, how 5G was first piloted in Wuhan, China and how the Corona Virus just seems to have conveniently appeared at the same time 5G has been unleashed on people.

Have only watched half the video so far and still need to research the reliability of the sources along with the accuracy of what is being portrayed but it all makes for interesting viewing so far.

I haven't watched the documentary but unless I'm mistaken 5G is dangerous because of the level of radiation it transmits.

I don't understand how radiation levels can be linked to a flu like virus at all.

Ireland should be the safest place on the planet if 5G was to blame.

Half of this country still only has about 0.5G
