Does anyone know if the crèches will still be expecting their fees even though they will be closed for the two weeks?

Obviously they still have to pay their staff so I’m just wondering what happens with the crèche fees?

Not just creche's that have to pay their staff . As a small business owner who is facing eminent closure I too will have to find the money to pay my staff. I won't be charging Clients for cancelling so why should Creche's feel that they should still expect parents to pay for a service that is not being delivered.

Thanks Sbellex there are so so many in my situation today. I do say to myself that I'm not going to worry about things that I cannot control. I just wish we all could go into lockdown for the 2 weeks. We can't stop it and at least this might help slow it down and prevent our hospitals from becoming totally overwhelmed. X

Very much so.

I’m so lucky my business doesn’t really meet clients face to face. And recently a new office I built means all staff have an individual office. So they can come and go as they like

As far as I'm aware welfare are gonna cover employees stright away and are upping the payment so u shouldn't have to pay them unless u have a sick benefit scheme in place..

The government have said this but have also stated that the onus is on the employer to pay their staff as the it can't all fall on the government.

It’s been my experience that the small business owner is invisible in the eyes of the government in times of need.

I’m on the frontline and I’m actively dealing with possible cases every day. The stakes are so high that we are all extremely anxious in work about it. The government let this get too far ahead and are now firmly in chase mode. The ports are airports should have been controlled ages ago with massive checks and screening. Now all Defence Forces staff including recently retired have been called to barracks for immediate deployment. That is not good news.

Good luck to everyone trying to get their businesses through this. I hope that it pans out well for all.

Fire.
