This morning I calmly drove to my local lidl to buy 500 toilet rolls, only to find that there aren't enough because some idiots have been panic buying them!
Some people |

Seen an interesting podcast with Joe Rogan last night. I think its doing the rounds if anyone has seen it. Im not particularly panicked (even though my local tesco has been cleared of toilet roll, pasta, noodles and frozen pizza) but this video has certainly given food for thought |

Panic buying is just going to kill people.
1) hand washing only works if the majority of people are doing it. Thats why it spread so quickly in Italy, people there obviously dont wash their hands. It's not the italians fault, its the tourists.
2) As things run out those who actually need the stuff with compromised/weakend immune systems have to spend longer and longer looking for the items, visit more and more shops, expose themselves to more and more people.
People are scum. They took away single use plastic straws from the elderly and people with compromised immune systems. They took away single use plastic bags meaning they have to use the same bags over and over from them. Took away the single use cups etc etc etc.
People told them that the enviroment needed protecting, and that all they had to do was clean themselves and keep clean.
Then an outbreak happens, and the people who took all this stuff from them, run out to the shop and horde all the cleaning products. All the while making comments about how the virus wont even hurt them if they get it, and it will only kill old people and people with conditions, laughing that they are safe, while they buy up stuff that is needed by others at greater risk. |

Total bs.
Primary reason is historicaly Italians don't listen to politicians (liars, cheats, fraudsters). Second reason is that more than 60% of the population are retired so fall in the most susceptible group.
Put those two together and you have a perfect recipe. Yes it may have been brought in by a tourist, but that tourist may well have been Italian too. |
