Please explain how is it any different from annual flu? (Apart from the lack of vaccine, which many don't even get for the flu anyway) |

To be fair now, there's a world of difference between the common cold and influenza. They're a different virus for a start and influenza is much more serious than the common cold.
Manflu is another step up from either though |

I would think its mortality rate being many times that of the annual type of flu people generally get would be a big difference |

"Ive changed my mind....
The fact people think this is the same as a cold I think we need to actually lock this shit down now"
Listening to "Paul" on prime time last night, someone who actually had it last week and who has recovered already, it sounds like a bad hangover. He had no other symptoms but a slight temperature.
Have someone common sense, if on here and have a lung condition or a carer for someone like that, absolutely be sensible.
Look at the facts first |

So it's ok for us to get it but if we have friends or relatives with underline illness it takes 5 days before you know you have it in that 5 days you are a carrier and for two three weeks after that to just to say it's a common flu is ignorance and in which way it could spread the locked down northern Italy and a load of fools went south and spread it's time to grow up and respect everyone

My post was slightly tongue in cheek.....
I but it very much nothing like a common cold.
People are dying... yes people with underlying conditions, but to make flippant comments about it just being a cold is a bit disrespectful to those who are genuinely worried for elerly or ill relatives. |

This last bit boobs is what's worrying me. Especially coz my dad isn't exactly brilliant at looking after himself in the first place. And he has existing respiratory problems. And he's old. And I'm gonna go give him a little cuddle now. |
