I'm tired of all the negative press Nickleback gets. In my opinion, they are the best hard rock band to come out of Canada since Rush, and I'm sick of the shaming and being silenced.

Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Silver Side Up came out in '01, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. They've been compared to Elvis Costello but I think Chad has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

"First time I ever saw em live...Slane 2002. They supported Stereophonics. Could take or leave em before it but they played a pretty decent set!
I was there too they where amazing "

A mate in school came in one day raving about this new band he discovered called Nickleback. When they became mainstream soon after he had joined everyone saying how crap they were. Damn peer pressure. |

I work literally hundreds of gigs a year and have worked all Nickleback gigs in Ireland
They do put on a good show for their fans but they really are the marmite of bands...you either love them or hate them...nothing in between |

The shorter Chad's hair got the worse Nickelback got. Silver Side Up was good but rest of the stuff is torture. Rockstar was awful and DFS used it on a advert for ages. |
