Can't do any worse can they? Between women dying because of cervical smear checks been diagnosed incorrectly to people dying in the streets and our elderly on seats in the corridors of our hospitals. Something has to change |

You can't blame these problems on the last government, or the ones before that, or even the ones before them, I can remember housing, homelessness, hospital bed and nursing shortages stemming all the way back to the 80s

Sinn Fein didn’t run enough candidates to run the government. So unfortunately we will still have one of the other idiots as Taoiseach. But hopefully it will have given them enough of a fright to see that people really want change. |

Some Blame lies there though. Not enough change has been made. Hopefully as someone said the fright may wake them up.
Guess we will just wait and see..let's hope some good comes out of it. |

I was going to say something similar. It's a bit like in the UK many blame the conservatives for the state of the NHS, but the reality is they took over an NHS that was slowly being striped. One may argue Labour took over legacies before that.
I recently read a compelling argument that private health care is primarily responsible for the break down of national health care. It is pulling away much of the resources.
Could some of our unrealistic expectations of being healthier and living longer due to health care availability etc be a contributing factor to some of our disillusionment in the system? It is after all easier to blame others than assume some responsibilities. |

As far as I know it was always either FF or FG in power, so yes you can blame them. The few coalitions with Green or Labour didn't substantially change their policies. But I agree systematic change is needed and it's down to a government to set it in motion, so again yes they can be blamed imo but blaming doesn't bring change.  |

it will likley be F/f led with shin fein, its the seat numbers that will determine who goes to bed with who. no matter what they are saying publically. |

Couldnt agree more, if there's one thing we excel at, it's holding other people responsible for everything that's wrong in our lives. |

Sinn fein fantasy economics will be put to the test now..itll be interesting to see if they can deliver on their promises..abolition of usc..build thousands of affordable homes etc..they will be made eat their words in the coming years..my only fear is they could be worse than ff and fg ..yes worse but time will tell  |

I think FF can be blamed for allowing the housing bubble and banks to become what it was..... at the same token, people allowed themselves to get sucked into it and took whatever was offered....some from desperation to buy a family home and others from just pure greed. |

And so the roll back on promises has already begun. Martin of FF saying already that going into coalition with other parties is contingent on agreeing policies that are realistic, achievable, and in line with our economic model. This is political speak for business as usual. Watch homeless increase, watch the health services decline further, watch the rich get richer and the rest of us languish. Sure weren't they only promises we made.
Nothing will change wait and see. |

I dont mind if I pay more taxes or charges if I knew that the money wouldn't be wasted and everything wasn't just squandered like it has been in the past

Call me a bit cynical but they have lost their EU seats and salaries with the UK now out and so their EU voice has been lost, does this refocus have anything to do with it I wonder? |

Who ever is in charge must sort out rip off Ireland, first time buyer 30000 Thousand for your first house and then you're meant to live after that , healthcare £75 to go to the doctors rip off people on trolleys , paying to drive on your roads? 7 euros for a drink? Rip off , it needs to get better who ever gets in , Am for changing even if they all get together, It's about the people after all
