Was just wondering what's everyone's opinion on this? So many fantastic groups/bands in the past, but who was the greatest front man/woman?
In my opinion, Freddie Mercury was hands down the greatest ever |

Don't know if he counts as a front man because he's a guitarist.
But Angus young has gotta be up there doin what he does for nearly 50 years great to watch .
Plus in a band with 2 great front men in bon Scott and Brian Johnson and Angus still stands out !!!
And I've seen Freddy he was one of the best |

Love him or hate him, nobody can deny that Axl Rose has been one of the greatest front men ever.
Other greats:
Freddy Mercury
Steve Tyler
Robert Plant
Jim Morrison
Dave Grohl
Jimi Hendrix (played guitar and sang at same time).
Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Dickinson
Billie Joe Armstrong
David Bowie
James Hetfield
Trent Reznor
Michael Jackson
The list is endless. Take your pick |

Freddie Mercury would def be my pick. All round showman. LiveAid will always be seen as reference to his brilliance. 72000 in attendance, all there to see various epic acts.. but when Freddie hit the stage the crowd when nuts. Also was lucky to see Joe Strummer back in 2000 when he did support for The Who, great performance. Got the crowd going. |

"Liam Gallagher
What?
I'm not a fan but he was a great front man back in the day.
You can't deny it."
I don't know if you can count him because Noel was just as much if not more the face of that group |

David Coverdale - only before he went American!
Robert Plant - in Zep, not solo
Lemmy
Glen Hansard
David Byrne

Trent Reznor
Freddie Mercury
Iggy Pop
Frank Black
Josh Homme
"
Excellent taste!!
I have seen all of them apart from Freddie. I do like queen but not a huge fan. There is no denying Freddie was an unbelievable entertainer with an amazing voice. If I had one vote it would be him, because he could entertain the masses.
If it was the best font person I have seen then don’t think I could pick one, the above list is excellent, I’d probably also add prince to the list.

61 years of age and still flying around the stage. And with flame throwers on each hand for one of the songs on the latest tour."

Dermot Kennedy.
Man has a very strong and very emotive voice. Great tunes and you can get his CD on Amazon for a fiver, even cheaper than the download!
Go buy

Having been in the entertainment t business for over 20 years, fronted bands, done 1 piece, 2 piece and even been in the backing band of one of Ireland’s top performers I feel that I’m qualified enough to put Elton John at the very top of the pile, closely followed by Dolly Parton.
Some people have a talent for performing on stage and entertaining the audience and, lets face it, that’s what we are paid to do.
I don’t think you can choose a best front man or front woman though as people like different things and different styles. My 2 choices are 2 of many but they are the ones I personally most enjoy |
