There is no bad or good answer. Its your choice...
But what if the last minute date is also a passionate book reader and can wait until you will finish a chapter or two?

They haven't read the book!
If they have, explain you can't meet them until you too have finished it and can chat freely.

Judging by my personality - most likely a book as none of people who I ever wanted to meet were never close enough or available at a last minute notice.
Any other randomers just were never attractive enough ( mostly personality wise) for me to put any effort in them.
But yet also I'm a book nerd and do often choose a book over a person |

Think it was Red Dragon by Thomas Harris ws the only book that ever made me jump!
For anyone unfamiliar, it's the first of the Hannibal Lecter trilogy.
Couldn't put it down!
A date would have been a perplexing choice whilst reading that. |
