Looking for an irish perspective on this.

Hoping for a week away in March but unfortunatly La mirage (which we love) is booked solid until June.

Venus has openings, its nearly twice the price ,is it worth it?

some where near

Can't comment on la mirage

But have been to Venus just after it opened and it was just ok

It needs a lot of people to create a atmosphere it's fairly big if there's not much people around it's not great

Older one was more intimate

I think anywhere in Gran canaria is ok for few days away it's good value in general

WE have been to both and Venus Star in Oct and Nov and both times it was jammed and lots of fun activity going on . It also has a lot more room around the complex. Well worth the extra few bob

Don't be put off La Mriage being fully booked. Keep an eye out on their booking schedule because vacancies often come up. We've always managed to find a room at short notice.

We are just back. We have stayed in both places. Lá mirage about 5 times and venus star resort only the one time, the most recent.

Venus star is by far the better resort.

You don't have to leave the complex for anything.

Good food

Good drinks

Good atmosphere.

Good parties.

We only left to go to the clubs by night. 99% of the people there only left to go to clubs at night. Venus star will be the only place we will go to from now on when we go to the Canaries.

Long time no see guys! We have stayed at La mirage many times but this year tried Venus star. We preferred Venus for quite a number of reasons mainly more play and less drinking groups, much better food, lovey bar staff and the rooms were way superior. We also loved the location of the much better playroom and large sun/ play beds. It was worth the extra money to us as we also stayed around the complex to play rather than always going to clubs enjoy!!!

Those large sun/play beds make it way better. The single deck chairs make it hard to play whereas the bigger ones makes everyone more touchy Feely and hornier. Venus is well ahead when it comes to the little things.

Its not even about price its the atmosphere and people in these resorts we love.

We had to move out of la mirage for last 2 nights of a holiday before and were depress in a regular hotel.

I think when you get used of staying in a swinger resort its very difficult to stay elsewhere

I've never stayed in either but I did get a day pass to Venus Star last summer and it was GORGEOUS. Loved the huge sunbeds, the way you could just play in the open, the pools and jacuzzi! Nice crowd too

Went to the original Venus for their BBQ before too but I prefer Venus Star.

It all depends to be honest

Some beaches are cool with that and some are not same as camp sites

I have been to a good variety of both and all good once you know the situation you are dealing with

PM me if you want some more info or details
