just wondering would anyone be interested in a group social meet,everyone meets at hotel for drinks and chat and everyone can just socialise or go to a room with their new found friends.your thoughts? |

What's wrong with us southerners,someone posted about social in Derry and it got a good response,even people from south sayin it's bit too far for them yet didn't post here
Come on guys surely there be people interested in meet n greet here,it's not like we have any clubs or anything |

Meet and Greets are grand and can be a great way to dip your toes in the scene but we have found that on other *cough* sites social nights are taking over.
Nice to put faces to names and all that but why not throw a party instead...best of both worlds! |

A social or a "munch" as they're sometimes called is a great idea. I've been on one or two from another site and they can be great craic to get to know people without any pressure or expectation. Very useful for verifying folk too. Much more reliable than "someone spoke to someone once and they seemed nice..." |

Socials can be FAB fun, I've attended a few in the UK, and its the easiest way to see who you actually can ignite the spark with in very safe circumstances. So keep me updated please |

A pub in Dublin City Centre might be the best idea some Friday or Saturday night? There's a couple of pubs in Dublin that are used to "alternative groups" meeting up there and chatting. Is it best to PM the actual date and location though if it goes ahead. I'm not bothered if it's a sausage-fest either. It's just a social, not an orgy. If people want to go off and have fun afterwards, that's up to them. |

You really need someone to take this on if it's to get off the ground. Find a venue where people can meet for a few drinks and a hotel near by that everyone would use if travelling or making a fun night of it.
It would have to be done through private msg and not in forum. Though you could post your interest to attend through a forum thread. Would it be for verified only members only?
It all sounds easy on paper but there's alot of hard work goes into arranging something like this.
