Nothing actually sexual in this message but just a little note of gratitude to all hospital staff on this and how incredible you all are. After spending over a week in hospital, I now have an even higher respect for all hospital staff. Saying that there was a quite a few stunning nurses too which made the pain a little more bearable

I've got to disagree, sorry..I was in av ward with elderly Gentlemen and the nurses washed them, fed them and brought them to bathroom as well. They certainly were not sitting in any offices. But yes, care assistants are fantastic too.

Maybe its different in hospitals but in the nuraing homes its the care assistants that do all that sort of stuff while the nurses do sit in there office im not saying they dont work hard they do its ridiculous the amount of paperwork they have to do especially if a patient falls but it takes everyone working together to make it all work anyone that works in the caring field is amazing

I disagree that nurses get all the praise, just do paper work and not the hard slog. I work in Healthcare and nurses are very hard working. They are often in the offices as hiqa have piled on paperwork requirements and drug counting etc. I have worked as a care staff during college and care staff do great work. Nurses have alot of responsibilities on their shoulders with serious ramifications if things go wrong. Sounds more like care staff doing day to day things from care homes verses hospitals. Like in hospitals nurses generally deal with families. Care staff are wonderful but so are nurses.

Can we agree anyone attending to the livelihood and health of another are not appreciated enough. Shoutout to any working in the mater who have to deal with society's less pleasant individuals regularly.

After having been in hospital myself recently, I think we owe a debt of gratitude to all who work in our hospitals. Doesnt matter if they are the cleaner or surgeon. They are all doing a terrific job under terrible conditions.

Absolutely...huge salute .. especially to those who work in A&E...the amount of abuse they get from people has to be seen and heard to be believed... people that turn up d*unk, stoned ,spaced out ,angry , aggressive...and start to verbally abuse and sometimes physically assault staff...not an easy job at all...plus they deal with accidents that sometimes the patient don't make it or act immediately to save someone....so that's why l would like to give a HUGE SALUTE to the A&E staff ..real heroes in a real world ..

".... ya you do an important job but your paid for it why the need to crave praise

The health care field is always praised anyway?"

.... maybe because when they are dealing with "us or our family members or close friends" or any member of the public, "just doing their job is not enough"?

Hospital staff, teachers, firefighters, ambulance staff, some Garda staff, even prison staff and numerous other staff that I can't even remember now, are dealing with a person (or a whole bunch), when that person is at their most vulnerable moment in their life (illness, no parents around for kids, etc.) and just doing their job, is not enough.

They need to do "more than that" and some do and should be constantly praised and rewarded for it, as for a moment, an hour, a day, few weeks, a month, they become the closest person that can help, when need it the most.

But if we haven't gone through hardship in your live or if we did, but we weren't helped by anyone when they should have helped us, then "I've helped myself and my family" becomes the only alternative and that is when we start to fail as a society and as a community.

Absolutely. It takes a certain type of special person to care for the infirm no matter the cause, age, accident, disease, I think you are all amazing, underpaid and most of all under appreciated. LOVE You All.
