Are chat groups killing fab Ireland forums

I have never seen a successful meet organised on the forums, I've only ever noticed the "I have a free house tonight" type of threads looking meets.
Personally I dip in and out of the forums but the proliferation of trolls is off putting.

I think they serve different purposes but also appeal to different folks, some like the forum, some don't, same with chat groups. I've been on the latter once, with 5 people, I found it mental. As for meet arrangements, I prefer to keep them privately. |

Chat rooms are real time talking..a get to know you exercise which lead to meets or friendships..forums encourage debate..differing views on different topics..its a bit like the difference between reading a newspaper and taking part in a live phone in...each has their place. |

Havent some of the best social meets this site has had in Ireland started on the forum?
Sure they might eventually move to chat groups, and some might have long standing chat groups by now, but I assume this would still be among the first places to vote if youre serious about starting a new social or meet.
But i dont actually use any of the chat groups, or know what goes on in them. |

Was in a chat group once...had to leave it...it was just head wrecking...as in ,nearly everyday twas the same everyday stuff being repeated.. so not for me ...l only joined To see what it was like and suss things out at the time and my mind was made up not to be in one again ... anything l do regards meets etc here l keep private ...very private .. |

A few of my meets come from the forums. I may not post publicly but sometimes I will start to chat to someone due to something posted on the forums especially if I have seen them posting before. You get to get some idea of who they are by what is said in forums.
I also tend to be in the Ireland chat room a lot of nights the more you join in there the more people chat to you. As for other apps I've never had a meet from them.
So ye for me anyhow the forums are a handy place to meet and interact with people. |

The forums are a little quieter lately and the chat room is a hell of a lot quieter than it used to be. It's a shame, while I am in a Kik group, I do miss the novelty of chatting to a new person in the chat room or discovering their profile on the forum. |

I agree with most comments made here,treads should be a bit of banter good fun not getting personal with people about there kinks or the subject they post on treads,I think some people think there shit don’t smell and they are better than other people have FUN people and get down of your high horse  |

Both forum and groups have their merit, both have their downside, both have their trolls.
Its not hurting the forum, the topics on the forum are the issue. Theres only so many things you can chat about!

The bulk of my meets come from the forums over the years  one was arranged on a thread a troll had posted about the women here posing and posturing and not meeting the thread went on fairly fast, i think it filled up in a matter of four hrs and in the 175 posts i managed to pull a meet with a local woman that i would not have chatted to before that thread but would have seen posting on other threads |

I met lots of people, including my FwBs with whom have discussed on forums, not on the group chats.

Its that time of year again dark wintery nights people busy sorting kids and homework, its a seasonal thing this time of year the forum goes quiet also around easter again it happens.
I don't know why it does but it does and this thread is resurrected again on a bi annual basis |
