I don't think so... it's the only day of the year you can't buy alcohol, so you have 364 other days to stock up, but for some reason everyone wants to buy it on good friday lol lol  |

Bars should have been shut as the licensing laws for Good Friday prohibit the sale of alcohol until the hours of 5pm till 11pm
Easter Saturday the licensing laws allow the sale till 11pm - or midnight if a late licence has been granted and on Easter Sunday - from 12.30pm till 10pm
Good Friday and Easter Sunday are the only days left in the whole year where strict trading laws are upheld. Nothing to do with religion as the same strict trading laws apply to England ( although the licensing laws are slightly different now with the advent of 24/7 drinking - and look at the mess thats caused) |

I've never seen it here... I find Irish women quite strong willed and emancipated. This is from the view of a foreigner. Where I come from there is much more sexism, in fact it's far away from equality. It's a very modern western country by the way.
I've lived in London for a while and I didn't see women treated better there? |

I dont personally think that in our society today there is a place for the ban.
Its religious connotations arent fitting with the multi cultural living we all becoming more accustomed to. Im all for the the banning of alcohol sales for a day once a year etc. but i wouldnt associate it with religion! |
