"South Africa, because I have backed them from the start.
I am interested to see if Englands disrespectful power game will work against them."
What makes theur power play disrespectful? That is also SA primary game after all. |

"What makes theur power play disrespectful? That is also SA primary game after all. "
Their response to the hakka, everyone already agreed not to respond to it. Their general playing method, leaning over a ruck to pull the shirt/shorts off a player when there is no chance of winning the ball. Running head first into someone and then smiling when they get sent off for it, general "dark arts" like collapsing mauls when they could keep them up etc etc.
Its been part of their game for ages now, pretty much no respect for anyone.
I think South Africas plays is a lot more respectful. They could have played against Japan cynically however they didnt, they could have played against wales cynically however they didnt. For example they dont reach over the ruck to pull your shorts off and rip your jersey, they drive through it attempting a turn over.
So I am looking forward to see if Englands style of man handling, dark arts, disrespectful rugby vs South Africas very very hard hitting, back to basics rugby. |

Actually the Hakka demands a response. It's insulting if you don't respond. Also if you listened to the AB response they said it was a great response from England.
The reason they were fined was because you're not allowed to cross into their half and a player stepped over it.
As far as your comments about England's play, I think are driven more by a personal distaste for England going by the green arrow. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

"Hopefully England. By far the best and most consistent team in the tournament "
I agree. They do play a strong hard game and also fast flowing when given space. Strong pack and can be quite creative.
Be nice to bring the cup over the line up here. |

Didn t really want either team in the final . But hope south Africa win as the world will not here the end of it if England win. They ll keep on about it till the next world cup. And i hate to say but i think the entire rugby world outside of England will be rooting for s Africa.
In today's game the all blacks were the better team and deserved the wi

Actually no youre not, youre supposed to stand still and then respond when they finish. The response is usually to walk toward them and pick up something they put down on the ground. There is no haka where responding during it is acceptable, regardless of what the rugby team say to save face.
Regardless of that, it was decided to stop replying to the hakka for this reason, as many others have replied to it, and NZ always says its not a problem but its not up to them.
Watch on youtube the NZ team facing a hakka from maori warriors, they simply stand still and wait for it to finish. |

As a player born in Ireland and still playing in England I think England are the best and most consistently powerful team in the tournament and I hope they win as a rugby purist. Remember it will not be long before we are all ‘lions’ again and will show the quality of northern hemisphere rugby. Interested in your thoughts on who will make the Lions from the current Irish team after this World Cup? |

This hatred for England right across social media, and from prominent people, and even ex Irish players on tv this morning etc etc is pitiful. When will we move on. As a neutral I just hope for a great game. I don't care who wins. |

Hoping for a great game mostly.
Heart says SA but having seeing how England have been playing, I think they'll win.
Fair play to them.
Ireland 2018 would have creamed them all.
Unfortunately Ireland 2019 wouldn't have a hope against England last performance.
Hey! This is what world cups are for.
Let's all just enjoy what will hopefully be a great game ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

why do non hakka teams even need to face it. coukd they not just continue their warm up or spitting out their chewing gum or spraying their habds with the glue spray. why are they "obliged" to face it. its not part of their culture is it? |

I could have guessed our 2 resident fab villige idiots would come here with some anti-english nonsense. Personally I'm hoping for a fantastic match with 2 powerful teams head to head putting on an entertaining display. |

I always find it very amusing when people slate the English National teams when they are successful. These are the same people that will fly over at the weekend to support their team Liverpool or Man United. So hypocritical, yet they will not be going to the FAI cup final tomorrow or supporting their local Irish teams.
Can people not just support teams without having their historical preducice interfere with it |

We'll 'move on', as you so eloquently put it, when they take their state forces out of Ireland and return home, leaving us up peace. Some people have very short memories. |

Must be embarrassing for the Rugby experts on here to have someone like me, a casual observer, call the winner of the world cup early on. To even say it will be an English power game vs South Africa power game.
Cant manhandle the South Africans, so Englands game plan fell apart, just as I predicted. |

Who are these rugby experts? One thing is for sure that some on here are not here to learn but think they know it all. Maybe they are the experts, but most wouldn't call or think themselves as experts.
One definition of an Expert = X is an unknown quantity, spurt is a drip under pressure. ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

This is sport. Not politics. You are the one with the short memory. Remember 2007. Croke park. All hell broke loose at the anthem did it. |

Wasn't the greatest game for a final.
All kicking points until the last quarter but SA definitely were the stronger team and so different to their last game.
England tried but were unable to get any momentum for 90% of the time.
Hey, there were no fights, rules were mostly adhered to, it was a fair result and some good comments from the 2 captains at the end.
Personally I thought de Klerk was one of the players of the tournament, a constant terrier on the pitch, especially considering his size.
Anyway, enjoyable over all and feck any political preconceptions mentioned above. It's rugby. It goes beyond that shite.
Think I'm wrong? Who's going to South Africa in 2yrs together as one team? ![](/icons/s/razz.gif) |

Roll on the Lions tour to SA, I will be there!!!
If Faf isn’t on the next Head & Shoulders Ad, they’re missing out. Nailing rugby and hair like a fucking boss.
Player of the tournament, imo |

I suspect that you could be right there Rowdy. He's a brilliant example of what sport can do for a person.

"All kicking points until the last quarter but SA definitely were the stronger team and so different to their last game."
How was it any different to their last game? All kicking, didnt get a try till 56th minute.
Only difference is, Wales are not a one trick pony and used some good rugby to claw a Try back, something beyond the capabilities of an England team facing a team they couldn't wear down and bully.
In fact, they did nothing different at all to their welsh game. They even held wales down at their try line and wales were running into a wall thinking they could smash over.
The England observers made some strange comments that they didnt think South Afica could keep that up against them, and thought they would just fall apart at some point. I don't know what gave them that impression, probably an emotional belief that they were a big deal. |
