I remember going up north in the late 80s to get my older brother a Raleigh Banana for a combined Santi and birthday pressie.

My pride and joy as a child was my Raleigh Mag Burner, which I bought with my communion money, my IR£87 wasn't enough and my mom put the rest. IR£110 I'm sure we payed.

A lot of money back then, I just remember her saying "Are you sure you want this one" but my older brothers were adamant, I get the Mag Burner.

Dublin west

There is a guy at the top of chapel Street that recycles them and sells them on cheap.

But stick them up on one of the small add sites and you will get a few quid for them.

Why did you have to get the Santy bike? Was he not able to get it himself?

Ha, I bought a High Nellie Raleigh from some young lad at a d*unken college party years back. It was a great wee bike!

Best bet is Done Deal cuz all the auld folk use that. You will def get a few pound for it, even if it's just for parts
