....we all have one.
Opinions that is.
Does yours change much?
I find myself with different views on some topics each time they pop up.
Sometimes I see them as very black and white sometimes with shades of grey.
Do you ever find yourself swayed? Does it make you openminded or a bit of a sheep.
Do you rarely change your views?
Is that principled or a little stubborn. |

That’s an awful lot of questions for this time of the morning!
I can occasionally be swayed but I am extremely stubborn so it needs to be a very good argument to change my mind on an opinion I’ve formed. |

My personal opinion on opinions is if your opinions never change, you are not learning. No one is right all of the time (though there are plenty who think they are)
The problem in general is that a lot of people don't like to admit they might be wrong and don't care what others think, nevermind even listen to what they have to say.
Just my opinion.
I dare anyone to disagree with me

I would say that if your opinions never change, then you are inflexible. I find myself that the older I get, the less of a shit I give in general. Although I do think that the stupidity of people in persisting with self-destructive behaviour will ever stop surprising me. |

I dont mind what stance people have. I'm more interested in why they have it. Even if I share the end opinion I will debate with someone if their stance is weak, normally to find out if they are just weak minded sheep or came to the opinion on their own through critical thinking around the issue.
Like abortion. I wouldnt debate with someone who said "I am pro abortion because if I get pregnant and have the baby and the guy leaves me then I am left on my own with the child and want to be able to control that process"
I would probably debate with someone who said "You don't have a womb so your opinion does not matter".
One is a critically thought out opinion, the other is pathetic nonsense drivel. I am pro life but most of my female friends are pro abortion, but their reasons for being pro abortion are not stuff like "The church wants to control my body" or other useless arguments.
Me personally I will change my mind, but normally I wont, normally I wait to form an opinion till I have debated it a bit, so it might seem like I have changed stance after a debate but I just used the debate to decide. |

So obviously everyone is open to well thought out logical arguments.
Are there topics that you find yourself flip flopping on a regular basis at times? |

I'm entirely of the opinion (except of course when I'm not!) that it's perfectly possible to hold more than one view on a matter, even views that appear to contradict each other - is that "flip-flopping" or the ability to see things from multiple perspectives? |

Prehaps flip-flopping was a bit of flippant (get it) phrase.
I guess sometimes holding more than one view on a matter can be confusing even for the person |

Depends on the subject matter. My opinion on core fundamental issues will not change but I am open to a good debate and can respect a well informed differing opinion to mine and may even alter my own opinion if the argument is good enough. It also can be simply down to context and tone at times on less important issues. |

It all depends on what the subject is and if someone is putting a point across emotionally or logically. I have changed my opinion on somethings due to a logical discussion in the past. Once emotions get involved though logic seems to go in a lot of cases. |

I'm similar.
Can often stubbornly hold a particular opinion but a lot of the time, even when I am staunchly one sided, I can see the other point of view.
In that scenario, I explain such, say why I think their opinion is incorrect, to my way of thinking but will listen to debate which could, occasionally, change my mind.
If you don't give air to different opinions, you'll never understand how different people think, why they think that way and, eventually, who might actually be correct. |

"Correct"? Or simply the prevailing thinking /morality of the time? Most things that people argue about are a matter of perspective rather than fact. |
