Hey lovely fab ppl . I know this may be a bit silly but just interested in people's views on it.
So I guess we all are aware of the word I'm referring to. Personally I don't like it but more that I don't like to hear a woman use it but then it seems to be quite common. Its not that I'm judging or stuck up anything like that ... each to their own of course but just curious if I'm alone in this or will I get slated for even mentioning it. |

If a person was one or was acting like one it is very hard not to let the word pass through your lips cause believe me they are out there in various disguises. |

I don't mind the term in a sexual context, but in everyday conversation I wouldn't use it. In fact I can only think of one person to whom I would apply it as an epithet and that's in private to my other half or in my head  |

Interesting to hear the different opinions there and I totally get the funny side of it like silly cnt or cnt of a day. I guess in context any word can be less than intended. Just to be clear though I wasn't meaning that it's ok for a guy to use it and not a woman but it's guys can be a little rough round the edges and girls are supposed to be better than us.
Anyway.... good to hear all the replied and I think then everyone is in agreement that we won't use it here any more.  |

I don’t think we’re in agreement at all OP. Cunt is a fantastic word. Wouldn’t say it in front of my mum, but other than that I’m a big fan.
Interesting though that the “worst” word/insult available to us is one that describes female genitalia. “He’s a bit of a dick” or “what a cock” just doesn’t have the same vitriol as “absolute cunt”. Or cause such offence.
I also read something recently about a doctor who was consulting with teachers regarding them giving sex Ed lessons to pupils. None of these professionals had a problem with saying penis but asked for an alternative to “vagina” as they found it too uncomfortable. if memory serves me “private parts” was suggested.
My own GP once asked me if I had “any issues... ahem... you know... down below”

Agreed - as insults go it’s not nice to be called thick. That would upset me much more than being called a cunt.
But the word stupid isn’t offensive by itself. Cunt is far more likely to cause a sharp intake of breath.

but.. I do know loads of single mums on the dating scene, and a lot of them tell me their ex was a cunt. I dunno how they think they will ever get to date me after saying something like that. It's not in my vocabulary, it just never made it there.
In a sexual context I find it too vulgar. And I can't get my head around it as an insult especially calling a man a cunt (there I said it ) Does anyone say 'she's a right dick'? - No, but it's gender neutral with cunt. Bizarre. What's wrong with asshole? at least we all have one.
