That's not exactly true. 31 counties were supporting Offaly in '82.
Attendances at games were going down every year. The semi final between Kerry and Armagh in '82 had a crowd of 17,500 at it.
Micko and that Kerry team were the ones that brought the GAA closer to professionalism than anyone else. Kerry county board flaunted the rules in relation to sponsorship and many people involved were getting well paid for their efforts. |

"Come on that all fabagated unfound talk ..your stats is ur beliefs and u dont like the truth ... calm down there and have a kik cat and a coffee we man ...."
We can do stats if you want. JG has 6 Senior All Irelands, 3 U21 and a few National Leagues in there as well. There's not much difference between the two apart from JG being the only one with 5 in a row. |

The only reason that the attendance was so low for the semi final of '82 was Ireland was in the middle of another recession and Kerry people weren't gonna come up to Dublin for a semi final which the result was gonna be what it turned out to be and they were keeping their few quid for the cost of travelling to the final, and it wasn't arrogance ,it was just an economic and financial decision...and l don't think 31 counties were supporting Offaly in ' 82 ..if the ref did his job properly it would've been a free out for the shove in the back ,that incident was on par with Henry's double handball against Ireland .. Offaly haven't been in an all lreland football final in 37 yrs...that Kerry team showed their class when they added another 3 in a row after that . |
