Does anyone else ever check in to the politics forum here on Fab when things seem to be going too well for themselves?

It is great for getting rid of any happiness for a day or two.

Yeah I pop in there fairly regularly, when it gets too boring here with beard threads and kiss, fuck, pass. Not to post necessarily but to read up on the newest Brexit episode, it's a bit like eastenders but written in forum posts with some more likeable characters and some unreconstructed villains. It can be quite entertaining but sometimes it's also rather scary.

Yeah it’s interesting, some great posters and some other deluded nutcases but great entertainment when the Irish forums are usually busy obsessing about posts about preferring hairy chests or shaved fannies or the fuck, kiss, punch or drink a pint with, posts

I do, and occasionally post on it. I shorten my life by an average of two days Erth every post though. It's a cess pit.

There was a discussion on the potential for Irish reunification on it about two or three years ago. I still haven't fully recovered from that one. I always wonder how some of the more extreme posters cope with day to day life. Some of the comments on that thread were beyond extreme. The death of Martin McGuinness was another memorable one.

I have to say though that the general level of ignorance of all matters Irish/ northern Irish is sometimes astonishing.

I've read some of your battles on there, you've my full admiration McCarthy. Whenever the topic is around Ireland I noticed that many have either no idea what they're talking about and/or a rather distorted picture of the Irish. Sure you're all a bunch of terrorists

Yes, it's an interesting social study. I much prefer the Camping forum. So peaceful.

I've looked at it a few times but it's not good for my blood pressure! So many idiots that I want to correct, I always have to take deep breaths and remind myself I'm not going to change their minds and to just leave it.

Fun forum, dunno why people expect English people to know northern Ireland's history. They didn't even know who the support are till may did a deal with them.

For English people the UK is like a mini EU, we don't know Czechia history, do we?

How many people know Czech republic changed its name to Czechia?

There's a slight difference in that we don't live next door to it, nor do we claim it as part of our kingdom.

The average person in the UK dosent claim much of a Kingdom and Id wager they know as much of the history as alot of Irish do about the UK's or our own for that matter

Yeah could you name people on Cork County council?

We spin our history in the favour of our government too.

We dont cover the fact they set up a hit sqaud to murder up to 100 anti treaty associated people in cold blood, in reprisal for a hit carried out in the UK, that was covertly carried out by them and blamed on the anti treaty people.

We spin the history to be "Anti british", when it was more "Anti bad conditions, and wanting the rights afforded an English person, ie fair treatment"

They obviously spin their history to focus on their own great achievements.

As much as Irish people would like for our history to be important to England, its not, we have a big thick book about our history, it would be lucky to take up a chapter in an English high school level history book, if any pages at all.
