Can't stand it. Can't stand him. Same formula every week...'the whispered frustration to the camera' 'the confrontation'.
Then the results are usually the same, use of the word 'contemporary' a lot and a white / grey kitchen with 'clean lines' and hidden drawers. It's a no from me.
(Of course tonight's programme will be totally different now, ha). |

Once worked on a job for this programme..ours was a very small part of it but the builder vowed never agsin..he's never around to make a decision...only visits site 3 or 4 times during the whole build and is constantly arguing with the client if he thinks he's coming across badly on tv. Give me Grand Designs any time |

"I love it and really like Dermot. Think the pairing with the Diarmuid Glavin last week was good.
"
I missed that episode in fairness, maybe I should have kept schtum if the programme has a new angle. |

"Room to improve, he's all about glass and open spaces...wouldnt be gone on it"
I think that type of attitude is ingrained in Irish people’s DNA from oppression by the British for hundreds of years....generation that couldn’t own their own land, living in conditions that an animal wouldn’t now. Taxation on the number of windows that a property has.... |

Brutal.
Dont get me wrong, its always an improvement on what was there, but its usually a box built onto the back of the house, some designer kitchen plopped in with clean lines, and grey or white splashed about the place.
Then you have to give him 100 grand more than he said it would cost.
Grand design is vastly superior, you see people doing quirky, original stuff all the time on that, not an over priced paint by number job. |

Its actually the opposite, they are afraid to stamp their own personality on a place, and want a magazine look. I remeber on the show he tried to do the architectural concrete feature (bare concrete) and he made a mess of it. Luckily it ended in something the client was happy with, but he made a total balls of just pouring some exposed concrete. (not the workers fault, his, you have to spec a special type of concrete to get the clean concrete finish). |

"I watch it. Would never let him do a design for me. To many big windows.
Did anyone the woman on tonights was sexy and flirty? Maybe into swinging or dogging?
"
Can’t say I saw anything to make me think she was a swinger (she had a swing chair tho) or into dogging..... |

Thank goodness I don't have any Irish channels. So I don't even get tempted to watch miserable copies of successful uk programmes. Plenty of room to improve there but little hope it ever changes. |
