Huge game today, live on RTE2 . The Dubs going for 5 in a row. Will there be an upset ? . A historic moments beckons on Sunday afternoon if Dublin can achieve what has never been done before in the men's championship race.
It's the 30th championship meeting between the sides - Kerry have won 17 to Dublin's 10, with two draws.
The Dubs have prevailed in the last four championship encounters (2011, 13, 15 & 16). Prior to that, the Kingdom won nine and draw one of the ten meetings between 1975 and 2009.
Dublin's last defeat in an All-Ireland final was against Down in 1994.
The 1979 final between the pair was brought forward a week because of the visit of Pope John Paul II.
Between them, Dublin and Kerry hold 65 All-Ireland titles |

Great to see people from outside Dublin support the dubs ..I'm a dub supporter on my way soon to the hill ...this thing about population and money is just people being jealous ...its like the dubs of the 70s or Kerry early 80s .and great group of talented players that around at a given time .this team are amazing athletes .nice guys .and everyone should sit back and enjoy them .Kerry will definitely give them a great game as should be .but let's enjoy them as time catches up on every team and another will take over ..maybe sooner than we think if rumours of jim gavin and Steve Cluxton calling it a day and moving on with their lives ..they owe Dublin and gaa nothing .so if true the best of luck to them .so sit back and enjoy .and com on the dubs |

I think the dubs will win but it will be a tough game. Kerry are no push over and of all teams to upset the 5 in a row, theres no better one than Kerry!

interesting game now...v surprised Dublin management team left Cooper on Clifford,it was clear he was in trouble very early on.Peno was soft enough but Clifford is causing problem. Now we will see if Dublin are the team of all time or if Kerry tradition and youth can stop the 5 in a row |

"Serious question, are Kerry getting preferential treatment from the GAA, funding etc? for a population of 140,000 that seems very suspicious."
Financial report shows Dublin received €2.1 million from GAA last year while Longford, Leitrim and Tyrone were handed just a paltry €69,000 in comparison. To take GAA games development funding of 31 counties per player to Dublin level would need budget increase from €3,138,907 to €90,673,525.40. It looks like one county gets preferential treatment |

Its not just allocated on membership numbers. A large proportion is for staff costs and the origins are we have a huge amount of coaches employed in Dublin to develop our games. Though their success and development in both codes is clear to be seen |

Again membership levels will dictate staffing and coaching needs surely |

So longford with a population of 40,000 get 69,000 euro, and Dublin has what 3-4 million and they only get 2.1? Not even a euro per person?
It's no wonder these small teams do so well. |

Its not based on membership when it comes to staffing levels and development though obviously the push will be to develop the game in areas of larger population. We can rest easy as the GAA's Financial Director has said they will look into distributing funding in a more equitable manor in future.
All that said it was still an entertaining game and yet more money in the coffers now there will be a reply |

How is it a scam?
Should they play a minute extra till someone scores and rob the other team? |

True but is it not an insult to the players to suggest a scam? It's the game and results are what they are. |

Dublin didnt play a howler. They were matched for intensity. The pressure of 5 in a row and a young hungry kerry team.Todays game will bring on Kerry hugely given their age profile but Dublin are so strong you wonder have Kerry missed a real chance here.Dublin didnt play poorly, they came up against a very strong team today and were dominated in midfield for large periods and the kerry forwards gave them a real headache. Thats down to the opposition being quality. To suggest Dublin had a howler is nonsense.Ye were lucky Cluxton pulled off a few top saves. As for Jack McCaffrey, what a player. |

Kerry’s chance was yesterday.
Dublin are something else, Kerry panicked last few mins trying to play keep ball. Can see a diff game next, Dublin to win +5 points. |

"Dublin didnt play a howler. They were matched for intensity."
What intensity? The Dublin intensity comes in the second half.
In second half they went flat footed, they were walking back to position not running, they were getting caught off guard by their own quick frees. The lockouts were going to empty space and the Kerry team instead of lol first half where it was going to their finger tips. People were not running into areas for the kick and keeper kicked it there anyway to try wake them up, Kerry got 4 or 5 points in a row like that, Dublin just walking around. Several times their pace dropped to a walk while in possession only to kick it high into the air and water a chance.
Maybe it was due to the sending off, being a man down, I dunno, all I know is their second half, by their standards, was a howler.
