Ok, so i will make this short. My daughter (20) just broke up with her boyfriend. Yes, I suppose we have all been there but Im concerned for her. Any advice or ideas on making this easier? and on a serious note any behaviours I should be watching out for?

Please refer to other thread same advise genders reversed.

But I honestly think you're just trolling to see if responses are different in the case of a Daughter over a son.

It's not trolling. Yes, i wanted to see if the response would be different. Saying that i should've waited a week before posting. However, i don't agree with your trolling label. I suspect the advice would not be the same.

Why would advise be different? Should be the same sit down and listen to them.

Tell your daughter not to rush into anything to quickly as men are very childish and might be back when he takes a bit of time to grow up and realise what he's missing

Well, woukd it be the same? As your advice on the other thread revolves around male suicide rates. Would you present the same here? I don't think so.

That figure in the other thread didn't say male or female though. And yes advice is still the same. The other thread the op concerned about his son. This thread you raise concerns about your daughter. Or you tried a social experiment. My line on whether the person is male or female is still the same. Be there for them , listen to them and talk to them. Simples.

Steph, you were referring to men. Maybe not in the last post but that was a follow up post. You referred to men originally, you were then popping stats up.

Never mind Steph. I'm done with this conversation now.

OP my advise and thoughts would be the same on this regardless of gender.

Helping a son/daughter through a difficult emotional experience should be the same.

Yes, I too posted about suicide rates, as it is relevant to that post re male based statistics on suicide as someone called for the 20 year old to grow up and not be wrapped in cotton wool, which is harmful when it is quite clear that this age group is statistically more likely to take their own life.

So, yeah my thoughts and original post stays the same for your situation, talk to and be there for your daughter, allow them to process the situation with some understanding and positivity and to vent of course.

No point commenting here. It's not a serious thread. I don't have a daughter, there is no relationship crisis.

No way.

I was so worried about her all night.

I even lit a candle for her this morning when I was at Mass

Tell how this isn’t a strange thing to do?

You’ve just copied and pasted another Fabbers forum post, pretended to have a daughter that’s just broken up with a boyfriend and then said that the post wasn’t real in the first place....belittling another Fabbers genuine problem in the process.

Now what was the point in that? What we’re wanting to achieve. Unfortunately it’s guys like you that make Fab a hard place for genuine lads to get anywhere here.

Same advice.

Get busy making a mix tape of your emotion.

Funny to listen to years later and friends will query how you put so many classics together.

Even more friends will query where you got a tape deck
