So, we are finally getting around to our event and how best to hold it regarding invites.This will be a FREE / NO COST Social event like a meet and greet or a munch in that there will be NO PLAY of any kind at it. This event is to showcase our new venue close to Heuston Station to people and to get feedback on it.
This event will be open to everyone but will be strictly limited to 100 people on the night. Obviously we would like to strike a nice balance between Females,Males and couples so we have come up with the following to accomplish this.
Females and couples can apply here for invites for this event
Registering for this event FOR SINGLE MEN will have to be made in person on one of 3 evenings starting Monday the 12th of August. Applications will be taken here for interested people who will then pick the evening of there choice from the Monday,Tuesday or Wednesday evening from 7-9pm to register in person at a specific location close to Heuston Station / Guinness brewery for the Social which will be held on Friday the 16th of August.
The reason for this is there is a huge amount of men wanting to come to this event but there is no point holding an event which is just full of men so this approach is to quickly sort out time wasters and non genuine people while giving everyone the chance to get an invite.We will be holding more and more events in the coming months so we want to build a good database of genuine people who will get invites to these.
We could just issue a fee and sell tickets through one of the event hosting pay sites but we want to keep the first event free.If this approach doesn't work we will learn from it and adopt a different approach for the next event.

We are trying to make a venue which is safe, private and lots of fun so we want to build a database of genuine people who will get invites in the future. We will be showing the venue and taking feedback from people about how to make the venue better for this community. |

Sounds like fun and a good plan to register people before they attend actual events, but those dates really do limit people who are outside Dublin. finding the time head to Dublin midweek and then again to stay overnight at the weekend would tax anyone's schedule. |

Replies have been sent privately. Couples and females can put their names down even if they aren’t 100% sure of attending . It’s only single males who have to come register in person before the event. |

Invites are going fast. We have a lot of couples coming , a regulated amount of single males who will be vetted before the event.
Where are all the single girls ? We have space for some more females. Come see our new venue in a comfortable, safe, fun environment where your safety, privacy and a fun experience is our primary concern. |

Swinky social showcase is filling up nicely. We have mostly couples as they are our focus. Single male spaces are nearly full but we have some spaces for single females. Contact us for invites.

So, we are limiting the single men on the night and even after giving 2 guys a shot at pre-registering they fail to turn up. We do love timewasters. Luckily the other 10 showed up and they are in. Timewasters are just blocked. |

So hundreds of men wanted a feee invite. We gave you one provided you came to meet us. You picked the day and time. You then forgot, left us sitting there for 2 hours without bothering to inform us. And then you want another day that suits you and you might remember to come to that ?? Really ?? |

I did not say it was your fault to block me what so ever it was totally my fault in forgetting I got my dates mixed up & I do apologize for wasting your time but you gave me 3 options of times I picked the middle one thinking I wasn’t going to be the last one. What I’m trying to say is I felt harshly blocked without be able to apologize for not showing up due to forgetfulness and I would have tried to follow up on the second or third date you offered me but I was blocked  |

Must say went to the event tonight, there was a nice mix of people there. Venue was cheerful and the bar staff friendly. Talked Mr Swinky who was a very upbeat. We are looking forward to going again. |

We were at last nights social event held by Swinky.
The night did not go to plan with the amount of people who turned up was a bit of a let down which I'm sure Mr Swinky will be first to admit. There where some issues that we had a chance to ask Mr Swinky about and one of them was charging single guys for entry and he agreed that it should be done on a deposit basis in the future .
That said maybe he should have charged the couples as most of them didn't bother turning up and most if not all the single guys turned up which was refreshing .
As for the venue we see in the forums alot people looking for the best bars in dublin for meeting swingers, well this could potentially be a brilliant venue for Dublin first alternative life style bar. The place is very big and could easily hold 250-300+ .
We've all been to socials were the venue is too small and there is no room to move and the music is so loud you cant even chat to people properly and it can be hard to distinguish who is part of the social and who isn't.
This venue is a proper full bar with it's own entrance with it's own security on the door to ensure privacy and discretion for all.
Although the night was not a roaring success anyone organizing any social or party events should be encouraged and not shot down or to be taken cheap shots at . We are a small community and we are all here for the same reasons so lighten up and just have some fun people.
We are looking forward to the next event you organise OP .

Yes but all of those questions were answered multiple times and yet people where still asking the same questions. This is the first of it's kind so obviously there are going to be teething problems but some people just concentrate and focus on the negatives instead of seeing the bigger picture of how good this could be for everyone .

Thank you guys for the kind words and thank you to all who came last night. This was my first crack at holding an event and i acknowledge that mistakes were made, i didn’t explain this profile or the event to people properly and there was a lot of confusion. I will work to rectify this and to change the things that need to be changed. My primary mission was to show the venue to people because if i didn’t act quickly the venue might be lost to this community and used for other purposes.
I will rewrite the Swinky profile to clarify who we are and what we are trying to do. Swinky is primarily run by one man who has a singles profile on here so the pics will overlap with that. As do the verifications. And I will tell anyone who asks me privately who I am. It is setup as a couples profile because when I set it up years ago I was part of a couple so didn’t change that now as if I did it would limit me to the pics I can put up as a single male. I do have a few regular play partners who will appear in the pics so that will explain the different girls. One of which was present last night although she is not on fab but another site. I also have back up from another person who is on the scene a while but that’s in an advisory role primarily.
I got some amazing feedback on the night from the people we talked to and i will work to make the changes necessary to make events like these better. While the turnout was lower than I might have hoped for i hope that this will build in time. A wise man told me that to do great things it just takes a small group of committed people to get it started. I will try to learn from our shortcomings and make the whole experience better for everyone in the future.
Thanks again to the people i talked to last night, you guys gave me the belief to go forward with this.

I can understand why some people had last minute reservations. Late changes can only really be done by established venues.
It's good to hear the venue and event was as described and that reservations were largely unfounded.
I have no links to the swinky event, id, users, and didn't attend. But it seems obvious they are trying to start a new event. |

You allowed 20 unverified and unvetted single lads attend as long as they paid you. You are not a couple. You keep saying "we" when it's you. A single lad. You've alternated between saying it's a social, a meet and greet and a showcase.
One of your valued paid for single males has named the venue on this site, all but ensuring that people's need for privacy and discretion is obliterated.

Congratulations on a courageous venture. All startups have teething problems. Reading through the various problems, I can see how folk can be unhappy. For what it's worth, I can offer advise based on my experience of running a swingers club in Dublin.
1 limit attendance to couples only, it saves so much heartache.
2.Advertise across the full range of swingers sites, clubs in Ireland and UK.
3. Charge a fee, at the door, or through an adult/sex friendly online payment system.
4. As regards vetting, verifications, etc. Have a few very charming and diplomatic, non playing "mentors" present to make sure there are no messers, d*unks.
5. Nimhneach has a good modus operandi, and successful business model to copy.. And it's not unlike what you're doing.

Yeah. Um. Sorry. "Swinky", I've tried to be as positive as I can be... But frankly... You're spewing bullshit left right and centre. This is not your first event. I remember "Come Dine With Me".
You allowed 20 unverified and unvetted single lads attend as long as they paid you. You are not a couple. You keep saying "we" when it's you. A single lad. You've alternated between saying it's a social, a meet and greet and a showcase.
One of your valued paid for single males has named the venue on this site, all but ensuring that people's need for privacy and discretion is obliterated.
I hope this venture evolves and grows... I do.... But seriously dude.... Stop the bullshit. "
