So folks how often do ye use the block button and why. I use it when I get a no thank you or my message deleted so as not to send a message again to them in the future.

What are your reasons

No offense to anyone if they are blocked.

city

I used to use it if I messaged someone and they deleted it, hoping it would stop me from bothering them in the future.

But then I found out the site warns you about that before you send a second message.

So now I basically just use it if I think someone is following me from thread to thread to argue with me, or if I come across a profile that I never spoke to and they blocked me, I block back, because the idea that they might unblock me and look at me then block me again creeps me out.

I réad that as Block butter and I don't use it often at all as its so hard to spread.

The block button on the other hand is one I've used once only, and that was about five or six years ago. It used to be easy to hit it by accident on the mobile but it's not as bad these days.

Hell

I'm quite friendly with my block button Haha

I'll usually block if someone has sent me repeatedly stupid messages, unsolicited dick pics, if their status updates are gross/annoying, if their forum post shows a fundamental difference of opinion (prolife, transphobic, biphobic, etc), or if I am just not into them and I dont want to see/hear from them.

Oh aren't ye lucky with only one or 2 on yer list?

I block guys who abuse after I don't reply/delete their message. I blocked one lad who was close by and got a bit too weird for my liking.

So yea...I use it for the gobshites who think calling me every name under the sun will get me to respond to their 'fancy a fuck' messages & weirdos who I feel are gonna set up camp in the bushes outside my house

People who block me; I block them

Racist, abusive, trolling, terrorist supporting, homophobic forumites I block

Timewasters blocked

Couples who are just weird guys blocked

And generally anyone with a war and peace profile that goes on and on and on ( u know the type) are immediately blocked - can’t be doing with that much pretentiousness

I dont use the block button to often. I get hardly any nasty name calling messages. So I mostly use after alot of repeat messages to meet by then I'm just fu#k this and block. Sometimes the block button is easier to use.

I am ruthless with my block button. I will block attached people who won't take no for an answer. People who send the same copy and paste message over and over. Guys who send hi hun wanna fuck messages, rude and pushy people, the obvious fuckwits you see on the forums. People who send abusive and body shaming messages.

When I first started and got lots of messages. I once counted how many I had blocked in one day. It was 62 people!

Often and the list is big. Ive generally used it when messages are ignored, a no thank you or if deleted so as not to send a message again to them in the future and waste each others time. It's a filter for those not interested. Some have taken it as personal in forums bit then that just confirms my decision was a good one.

I would hazard a guess say lots have blocked me over the years for annoying posts on the forum or for pictures on their local updates. I only block people if I feel threatened by them in some way. I’ve good filters and I can tell by the first line if I want to open a conversation with someone or not

I use it frequently for a wide variety of reasons. Some nothing personal at all. The list of reasons is as long as the list itself almost. I've also blocked some in error and wished I hadn't.

I'm pretty tolerant mostly, if people want to waste their time sending repeat messages despite us having deleted the last 30 without opening, that's entirely up to them. To merit a block, someone usually has to have done something specific to irritate me on a day when I'm just sick of other people's shit.

I've started to use the block button a bit more recently mostly just for the abusive guys or the ones who can't take a no. Very rarely for someone who's statutes just get annoying every day on my updates but that's pretty rare.

I sent a message to a lady one night & as soon as I sent it it disappeared from my sent items. It was instantly blocked. Still don't know how she did it. Was sit just a coincidence, was she viewing my profile at the same time & blocked me? Has this happened any one else or is there some sort of filter that I don't know about??

I rarely block only use it if the sender is very obviously weird or creepy. Also when a guy is rentless and consistently ignore my polite refusals.

We tend to be quite ruthless with the block button.

Anyone who sends us an unsolicited cock pic or a 'Wanna fuck?' message or who doesn't bother to read our profile earns an instant block.

After initial messaging with and politely declining anyone that we do not find attractive or have no interest in, they are also blocked as this stops the same persons from messaging over and over again every few days or weeks.

We decided to count the number of persons on our block list recently and so far there are 251 persons on it.

I don’t use it often at all, only about 3 times, when some guy was sending winks (few hours after I deleted it another wink came in) and also message me most days for about a week even that I wasn’t replying, the other 2 were for constant messages even when I wasn’t replying

block for a few reasons. constant messages after being told not interested, rudeness, wannabe drama queens and wanna fuck mails. when we came back our block button got used for people we had negative dealings with before in the past. made our return fairly pleasant

Well we have been on here four months so it only equates to 2 or 3 blocks per day which is really not that many considering the volume of messages we receive.

I mostly used mine to block guys who messaged me despite my profile saying I'm straight. Once I realised that I could set filters to stop them messaging me, I didn't have to block so much.

Apart from that, I've only really used it to block women who leave, then re-join and keep messaging me, despite the fact that we messaged (and in one case even met) when they were previously on and didn't hit it off.

Of course, as a guy, I get far fewer messages than women and couples do.

There's hardly a day goes by I don't block someone.

Why?

Simple really,I want no contact from that person.

I don't want to see their updates, pictures,or they mine.

It's a filter,and a very useful one
