I'm planning to purchase a new property here and just wanted to know the pros and cons for mid terrace and end of terrace. I have searched something in Google and ideally I would like to hear from people from their experience. I know end of terrace have some advance but with new building technique and regulations is mid terrace a really a bad choice...??? |

Mid terrace is more secure and easier to heat.
Access to the back garden is through the house though so if you're doing any work everything has to go through the house.
Also noisy neighbours on both sides could drive you mental. |

Building regulations?
If it was built during the celtic tiger its basically guaranteed to be a fire trap.
Saying that, mid terrace is easier to heat, easier to apply more insulation to the front and rear of property, and the only downside is going through the house with stuff and noisy neighbours on both sides.
End of terrace, you have easier rear access, which is also a security risk of stuff being nicked. You have less chance of a noisy neighbour (cut in half), its much more expensive to apply insulation to after (the external type) as it has to go on the gable wall. you yourself can be slightly louder without feeling a dick, in some rooms as no shared wall with a neighbour.
Id go end of terrace cause I basically hate people and would live in the middle of nowhere if i could. |

Neighbours are the worst so end of terrace cuts the problem by 50% |

You reminded me of something, the dreaded short lease rent, or airbnb. If you are lucky enough to have neighbours and one of them sells and turns it into an airbnb, your happiness will take a -10 or -20 nose dive. |

A bit off the point, but have your houses checked for geopathic stress ie natural magnetic field lines that can run through your house effecting sleep patterns and possibly leading to health problems in the future..it can be counteracted and Definately worth reading into... |

Detached all the way mate. Or if you can’t. Go with older SD much better built and less noise from next door. And for heaven sake stay away from timber frame or you will hear them fart next door |

The World Health Organisation did not recognise "magic irish mud" as a health remedy... Last year it was properly tested and new unkown antibacterials were found in it that actually kill superbugs. |

Yes, but I presume tested using scientific methods to identify the antibacterials.
Magnetic waves disturbing my sleep?? Come on!!
The only thing disturbing my sleep is kids, early starts for work and being at an age where I have to get up in the night to pee. |

Not a believer fair enough.. Its funny some of the nordic countries are making it mandatory to install a copper pipe around the house to counter this, and feng shui practiced in China for 6000 years to combat negative energies, sure what would they know? |

I totally agree, why own 2 walls when you could own 3. I hate people too so bought a detached house in the middle of nowhere. Half the price of the city and never have to be conscious of noise. |
