The first 2 seasons were made for ABC so they would have limited the swearing. The 3rd season was made directly for Netflix who don’t care about swearing. |

It’s a political drama, down the lines of house of cards or madam secretary or west wing etc. Basically the designated survivor (which is a real thing in American politics) is a selected member of government who is kept in a private location during the state of the union address as every member of the government including the president is at it. A terrorist attack takes place in the very first episode and every single member of government is killed, leaving just the designated survivor who automatically becomes president. As a very low level politician the presidency is never on his cards so the series follows his struggle to cope with his new role while trying to form an entire new government & track down those responsible for the attack.
It’s way better then I made it sound, definitely worth a look. Main actor is Kiefer Sutherland who played Jack Bauer in 24 |
