None. That's fictional bullshit coming from psychological shortfalls in the human mind. The arrogance of humans to think we have an "afterlife" or angels or demons or any of that exists is infantile thinking. A lot of people have exceptionally poor critical thinking skills and often inject their own theory/answer of something that has never been proven to a question that as yet remains unanswered/unandeerable.
Coincidences happen. That's just how it is. It doesn't mean any ghost is pulling the strings to make whatever event happen. |

I agree, some people have really bad critical thinking. Not only that they pepper their critical thinking with opinions.
So since critically speaking heaven has not been disproven, and taking the approach that it is real, I would think my granny watches over me. |

It hasn't been disproven doesn't give it a 50/50 chance of being true. I could say there is a huge teapot being ridden by the ghost of Elvis Presley around the rings of Saturn. You can't disprove it.
Critical thinkers don't base their beliefs on what cannot be disproven . They base their ideas in proportion to the actual evidence. Not anecdotal.
The biggest failure of the education system is people do not know how actually think. They don't know the difference from subjective to objective. They base beliefs on a load of stone age nonsense.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
Until such time there is conclusive objective evidence "guardian angels"exist then it would be foolish to have belief in them. |

From an individuals point of view.. none.
When people try to bring in legislation because their "beliefs" mandate as such then there is very much a problem.
It doesn't the world for people to think it's flat but stupidity is contagious and is often amplified in tribalist group think patterns. |

What were all these Gaurdian angels doing for 14 Billion years while they waited for humans to evolve? Just kicking back, letting mass extiction events come and go. Untill one species of primates slightly veered off into a more intelligent lineage, and they thought "Check these guys! They are top of the food chain and dominating the planet... looks like they need our help"
Load of arse. |

Ah but some (like the free presbyterians up North) believe that the world was only created 6000 years ago and sure what's the harm in that. Its not as if lunatics like that can come to power in modern developed countries. |

There are so many arguments you can have against this sort of thinking, but what you said sums it up. Extrodinary claims require extrodinary evidence. If there is some other force in this universe which helps us along by affecting our thoughts and how we make decisions, it would be 100% observable. Through neurons fireing randomly on their own without a stimulus, or chemical imbalances appearing out of nowhere in our brains, basically breaking Neuton's second law.
If this undiscovered area of physics that is impossible directly observe exists, we would be able to indirectly observe it when it interacts with known physical laws. However, this is not the case. |
