Am I a snob?

It’s late. Only a few messages exchanged. She’s nice. She’s keen. Where are you she asks?. South Belfast - where are you ?. She replies with her exact address. Now we hadn’t positively arranged a meet at that precise moment but it was going that way. I google map then google earth it. Crikey. I do a virtual drive around the area on google earth. She asks for a meet in 30 mins. I ramp the conversation down and make my excuses ( she can only Accom). Its a VERY rough area of Poleglass in West Belfast. Google earth shows abandoned cars and wrecks. I didn’t fancy driving there . So should I have gone ? Am I a snob?

Passing up an opportunity to go late at night to the home of a total stranger (who may or may not be a woman) in a rough part of town?

I'd call it basic common sense.

Are Google images recent?

You said you've only exchanged a few messages with her... is she verified? Does it look like the profile pic?

Someone asked me before should or shouldn't they go to a meet in similar circumstances. I told him he should for the craic - he drove past the house and seen two men peeping out of the houses in question window...

She was well verified. Sent me new pics as we were chatting. Seemed genuine by any yardstick

Agree.....sounds like a bit of a set up..always prepare for the worst...if it sounds too good to be true....it usually is

I wouldn't think so ,if you didn't feel comfortable going to that area ,doesn't make you a snob,..might do if you had met the girl previously and this time she was asking you back and you already knew what her living area was like and and you didn't want to go ..

Not a snob at all, your common sense kicked in and now you are better safe than sorry.

Personally I would never meet someone at the home on a first meet!... Be it they live in a castle or a warzone!..I used to be able to jump out of windows and over walls, but not anymore!

Do only what you’re comfortable with mate. If a woman had posted your concerns everyone would be telling her to be careful and rightly so.

city

A girl asked me to meet her in a rough area of dublin, didnt even give me an exact address, told me to meet them near a field down an alley.

I had a quick look on google, it was just a field/park there with multiple paths leading in all different directions. A car could easily block me in from behind.

It was pitch dark out. I hadn't seen them on video, it wasnt from this site, they were not verified.

So I just said "Looks dodgy, my car isnt worth robbing and I'm not bringing any money, I'll be there in 2 hours"

I turned up and could see people standing in the shadows, a knock on my car window I look out, a hot blonde there, i open the door she jumps in "you've some pair of balls on you" and she couldnt stop laughing.

Then she told me to drive she didnt actually live here and I had to drive to her place, so drove for 10 mins, got back to her place and well the rest of the meet went very very well.
