We are voting on whether or not to annex northern Ireland and Scotland while England is preoccupied with negotiations with the EU

Local authority elections, European parliament elections and a divorce referendum, proposing to abolish the required 4 year separation before applying for divorce..

I will be voting, then I can feel justified in complaining about politicians. Will be voting yes to the referendum proposal, forcing people to remain in limbo for over 4 years is "cruel and unusual punishment".

I always vote despite it being a trial out here in the countryside. Polling stations always have the same noisy feckers lurking inside the schoolhouse, asking questions a detective wouldn't ask a murder suspect .

All country people know the kind, they're the same ones who position themselves in funeral homes 3 hours before the Rosary, with their flasks and opera glasses

Unless very conflicted, I usually exercise my right to vote, but I'm going to miss this one as I'm away.

Nothing will change in the 26 counties if you keep the civil war parties in power. Give new fresh faces a chance in the locals and if they can deliver at that level then there’s hope.

Sorry right and wrong . There are two parts to be changed in the referendum

But it's only one vote for both questions. So a yes or no vote applies to both , it's in the information leaflet

Remember to fill your ballot paper. Contrary to believe, by not filling it in from start to finish actually benefits the person you don’t want to see elected. So use all your numbers / preferences even if it means putting your foe on the ballot

Don't be silly. That's not how it works. Qoutas still need to be meet. So at some point your vote could transfer over to those that you do not want. If you don't put any number against their name they can never get your vote.

the single transferable vote system is in use in the 26 counties. If you want your favourite to win, mark 1, if you want your most foulest arsehole to finish last, mark the last number you can. Otherwise you open a door for them to be elected on transfers. Mark then last to try ensure they stay there.

This works in therory. But it gets messy when there are multiple cunts you don't want elected.

It's better to lower the qouta in many case's as more than likely if your voting for a non-cunt candidate; there are probably not transfer friendly.

That maybe so but why should someone have to take a day off work or collage to vote on the other end of the country.

This is why they hold age sensitive votes mid week knowing that a big portion can't make it home to vote

You have to persuade 4m people not to vote.

Some can't help themselves.

So we must vote for people who are going to disrupt the norm.

none of it matters, the only thing that changes is ryan gets a contract instead of o'neill

Realistically we need a modern party to enter the fray, and I dont mean a party started because brendan got fucked out of the club and wants to start his own.

I mean a proper, option. No bitter back story, no axe to grind, just a get down to business modern party.

But that cant happen as RTE ban any attempt of this from being broadcast as they are non elected people etc.

Well I'll be voting llforike I always do for who I think is least damaging. More important and of greater significance is the Divorce Referendum which I hope passes and reduces peoples' wait from 4 to 2 years. Hopefully if it is passed the legislation will move through the Oireachtas quickly and the court services will be adequately financed to avoid a backlog of hearings....but those are other potential issues.

you will not be voting to change the time on divorce. you will be voting the time out of the constitution and allowing td's to decide in the dail the time applicable for divorce.

I agree with a sorter time , but this is just a minefield vote .

they also put a second vote with it , which is just madness .

I agree with the shorter times, I don't agree with how this has been done , so I will vote and abstain from the divorce vote.
