While I like Bob Dylan, I prefer many of the covers of his songs to his originals. Pretty much any cover the Byrds did improved on Bob's, especially Mr Tsmbourine Man and My Back Pages, while Hendrix's All Along the Watchtower is the definitive take, IMHO. Like a Rolling Stone by, er, the Rolling Stones is great, as is Guns n Roses Knocking on Heaven's Door. |

Agree with all along the watchtower. The drumming as much as the guitar make it a classic.
One out of left field is The Hothouse Flowers version of I Can See Clearly Now. I never liked the original but I love that cover version. |

I tend to agree it shows how great a writer he is. Although I think I prefer the Dylan version of Heavens door to the GnR cover. Although I think I prefer their version of Sympathy for the Devil |
