He was given a warning after the first incident and went and did it again. Given his international standing and media following he would have known what he stood to lose and he made that choice! |

How were they more extreme than some of the stuff his team mates are allowed to post, for example one is allowed post support for kneeling Duro American anthem.

Yep.... about 95% of the worlds population. Of those 8 categories I easily identify with a minimum of 5,..... 6 if you include hotel pens and 7 sometimes to get a meet with some couples lol |

I think he's perfectly in his right to share his views regardless of how fucked up they may seem.
I certainly have no love for religion but I'm a grown man. I can choose how I react to such things. I couldn't care less.
Also I don't buy this 'Sports persons are role models' shit. No one is responsible for how anyone else acts or thinks.
However, when he's representing an organization there's bound to be consequences and understandably so.
I just hope that the organization are taking this action because they feel it's justified, and not just to appease the SJW PC shitheads. |

We have loads of issues around the world where free speech really is an issue.
Two well paid idiots losing their jobs over tweets which brought their companies into disripute isnt a real danger to free speech in my opinion.
If there is a criminal complaint as far as i know it has to be investigated. I am quite sure nothing will come of it, whereas there are people thrown in jail daily in other countries for expressing political opinions.

I think it all comes down to who takes offence, what the current political climate is with regards to minority groups, who complains and rightly or wrongly the perceived effects that it may or may not have upon the said organisation to which they represent. IMO, most of it boils down to money, sponsorship both shirt and long term, and little to do with free speech right.
The said "adult and grown ups" who take offense because some has an opinion and dares to voice it need to be adult about it and stop taking everything so personal and take personal offences, unless of course heaven forbid some of what is said holds any truth which often is why people take offence to something whatever the subject matter is. |

Interesting to note, he is well liked and respected amongst his team and other players even though they knew of his strong beliefs as he's never with held them during his career. His views obviously haven't effected his game, the team and others he plays and trains with.
It's the outside world which has taken offence and placed pressure on NSWRU to now respond, as they have known of his beliefs for years.
This all raises a lot of interesting questions. |

In your opinion. However you are not the universal arbitrator of what is offensive or not.
In legal speaking in the civilized world, an opinion is less offensive than an act or call to act, ie "I believe bad people go to hell" vs "lets throw all the bad people off the roof".
The first type can pretty much never get you sent to jail and the second type can.
Secondly.
The memebers of the armed forces of America, and their families said they found kneeling to the flag offensive. So many people found it offensive ticket sales dropped, merchandise sales fell, and players could no longer do 90% their job and sell tickets.
So you finding it fine is irrelevant as those people found it offensive.
This means that they are illegal using employment laws to support some controversial and offensive views and clamp down on others. Either they apply the rules evenly or not at all.
Should he lose his job? 100% as long as every other player who says something political/religious/contentious loses theirs. Otherwise its an unfair dismissal. |

What legal speaking are you referring to? Lots of different legal systems apply completely different considerations to both speech and actions.

NFL growing figures dropped around 8%, which is in line with the general decline of viewership across TV in the states. Ticket sales agent been affected and Nike sales increased 31% after they released their Kaepernick campaign.

It’s irrelevant what the Warratahs say as his contract is with AR and Kate Eastman decided that no longer will be the case, Praise be to the lord.

Ok ok so I’ve established what you really mean.
So there is people who want to say what they feel but they can’t due to THEM Signing a contract which limits them being DISCRIMINATORY against others regarding their life choices.
When you sign a contract to say I won’t bring the sport into disrepute you sign it if your own free will. You get paid 4 million a year for it. |

No-one's freedom of speech is threatened.
The guy was free to say what he likes.
He still is.
The rugby authority is simply protecting the values of the sport and saying we want nothing to do with you.
He is free to carry on saying whatever he likes.

Yes he is free to say whatever he likes but he's also free to no longer represent his country, nor is he free to be the role model he once was.
People like Folaou need to realise while you can say whatever you want, everything has a consequence |
