He was given a warning after the first incident and went and did it again. Given his international standing and media following he would have known what he stood to lose and he made that choice! |

"He was given a warning after the first incident and went and did it again. Given his international standing and media following he would have known what he stood to lose and he made that choice! " I think he oversteps the mark on the religious views but its some loss of talent to Australia.

No sympathy for him . He had been given a warning previously. Just another example of how fundamentalist religious beliefs can warp the mind. |

Exactly. Fundamental of being an adult is understanding that with freedom of choice comes acceptance that our choices have consequences. |

How was his view extreme?
How were they more extreme than some of the stuff his team mates are allowed to post, for example one is allowed post support for kneeling Duro American anthem.
Are they more extreme views thanoh sallah or whatever that Liverpool player's name is. |

Yes saying Gay people will burn in hell is more extreme a view than supporting someone doibg a peaceful protest in suplort of civil rights.
Can you show me where Salah tweeted something simular? |

What he said was;
D*unks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists and idolators - Hell awaits you."
Which ties in with his religious views . So not specifically targeting gay people . |

I think he's perfectly in his right to share his views regardless of how fucked up they may seem.
I certainly have no love for religion but I'm a grown man. I can choose how I react to such things. I couldn't care less.
Also I don't buy this 'Sports persons are role models' shit. No one is responsible for how anyone else acts or thinks.
However, when he's representing an organization there's bound to be consequences and understandably so.
I just hope that the organization are taking this action because they feel it's justified, and not just to appease the SJW PC shitheads. |

His statement fits in with his religious views and indeed many religious peoples views if you take the Bible literally and in isolation . I’m a total atheist . I don’t give a flying fuck whatever he or any religious person says. I believe that nobody is going to hell for stealing hotel pens or having a gin and tonic too many. But in today’s over the top, PC mad , #metooduh world , the best thing to do is say nothing as someone somewhere will get all upset, tearful, make a complaint against you, take you to court and even if you are found innocent, public opinion will demand you be punished , lose your job, move to a foreign country ( sent to social media hell)
Sweet and salted please |

I hear where you're coming from but being quiet is just giving in to these cretins.
Free speech is being taken away one bit at a time.
Look at the Danny Baker incident recently. Ludicrous.
Ok it was bad taste and not funny, but does it warrant a police investigation? |

Is free speech really being taken away?
What is it you feel you cannot say?
We have loads of issues around the world where free speech really is an issue.
Two well paid idiots losing their jobs over tweets which brought their companies into disripute isnt a real danger to free speech in my opinion.
If there is a criminal complaint as far as i know it has to be investigated. I am quite sure nothing will come of it, whereas there are people thrown in jail daily in other countries for expressing political opinions.

I think it all comes down to who takes offence, what the current political climate is with regards to minority groups, who complains and rightly or wrongly the perceived effects that it may or may not have upon the said organisation to which they represent. IMO, most of it boils down to money, sponsorship both shirt and long term, and little to do with free speech right.
The said "adult and grown ups" who take offense because some has an opinion and dares to voice it need to be adult about it and stop taking everything so personal and take personal offences, unless of course heaven forbid some of what is said holds any truth which often is why people take offence to something whatever the subject matter is. |

NSWRU said, "But our clear message for all rugby fans is that we need to stand by our values and the qualities of inclusion, passion, integrity, discipline, respect and teamwork."
"While NSWRU is disappointed to lose a player of Israel's calibre, rugby has a code of conduct and values that we must adhere to ensure that our game remains a game for all, no matter people's background or beliefs."
Do they not contradict themselves in this statement by their action? By excluding him, the game now has the danger of not "remain(ing) a game for all, no matter people's background or beliefs."
Interesting to note, he is well liked and respected amongst his team and other players even though they knew of his strong beliefs as he's never with held them during his career. His views obviously haven't effected his game, the team and others he plays and trains with.
It's the outside world which has taken offence and placed pressure on NSWRU to now respond, as they have known of his beliefs for years.
This all raises a lot of interesting questions. |

"Yes saying Gay people will burn in hell is more extreme a view than supporting someone doibg a peaceful protest in suplort of civil rights."
In your opinion. However you are not the universal arbitrator of what is offensive or not.
In legal speaking in the civilized world, an opinion is less offensive than an act or call to act, ie "I believe bad people go to hell" vs "lets throw all the bad people off the roof".
The first type can pretty much never get you sent to jail and the second type can.
Secondly.
The memebers of the armed forces of America, and their families said they found kneeling to the flag offensive. So many people found it offensive ticket sales dropped, merchandise sales fell, and players could no longer do 90% their job and sell tickets.
So you finding it fine is irrelevant as those people found it offensive.
This means that they are illegal using employment laws to support some controversial and offensive views and clamp down on others. Either they apply the rules evenly or not at all.
Should he lose his job? 100% as long as every other player who says something political/religious/contentious loses theirs. Otherwise its an unfair dismissal. |

The fact that it can be made a criminal complaint is my point.
I have no issue with either being sacked if they have broke the terms of their employers.
Apart from their contract with their employers, I can't see how it should otherwise be a legal issue.
When did it become against the law to upset someone's feelings? |

Nonsense.
What legal speaking are you referring to? Lots of different legal systems apply completely different considerations to both speech and actions.
Secondly. Not "the members of the armed forces and their families" - you left out the owed "some", because others from the same group didn't. Aside from that, correlation doesn't equal causation. NFL growing figures dropped around 8%, which is in line with the general decline of viewership across TV in the states. Ticket sales agent been affected and Nike sales increased 31% after they released their Kaepernick campaign.
He lost his job because he broke his employer's code of conduct. That's the long and the short of it. |

Well yes, CK started it as a protest against police brutality but I think it really took off when Trump weighed in with his words about firing those who did it then even more people did it as a result of Trumps words . Either way I don’t agree with it |

Its not against the law which is why I said I am sure nothing will come of it. People are free to express there views the price of that is that others a free to take offence, and yes even report it to police.
With Danny Baker he is a very clever guy I cant see him tweeting what he did without realising whatvit could imply |

Correct me if wrong but this "eejit" so you're now name calling, lol, hasn't questioned anyone's life choices, but quoted what the bible says.
Why take offense if you don't believe in it? How does it then offer you?
How do you as a non believer interpret what the bible says about tattoos? I'm genuinely interested. |

It’s irrelevant what the Warratahs say as his contract is with AR and Kate Eastman decided that no longer will be the case, Praise be to the lord.
And I have lent changed anything, read above I’ve listed the social media post along with the church pulpit sermon. But sure you just choose what you want to see and let everyone laugh at your ignorance in the mean time. |

I agree, personally I’d have the pair of them thrown into the RVC, with TV/TS , Couples, The Lot and made watch the carry ons |

"But in today’s over the top, PC mad , #metooduh world , the best thing to do is say nothing as someone somewhere will get all upset
I hear where you're coming from but being quiet is just giving in to these cretins.
Free speech is being taken away one bit at a time.
Look at the Danny Baker incident recently. Ludicrous.
Ok it was bad taste and not funny, but does it warrant a police investigation?"
There was never such a thing as free speech..if youre views dont conform to what the masses think youll be smashed to pieces ..it was always like this..free speech is a myth |

Ok ok so I’ve established what you really mean.
So there is people who want to say what they feel but they can’t due to THEM Signing a contract which limits them being DISCRIMINATORY against others regarding their life choices.
When you sign a contract to say I won’t bring the sport into disrepute you sign it if your own free will. You get paid 4 million a year for it. |

No-one's freedom of speech is threatened.
The guy was free to say what he likes.
He still is.
The rugby authority is simply protecting the values of the sport and saying we want nothing to do with you.
He is free to carry on saying whatever he likes.

Yes he is free to say whatever he likes but he's also free to no longer represent his country, nor is he free to be the role model he once was.
People like Folaou need to realise while you can say whatever you want, everything has a consequence |
