It's worse than the adverts make out, and we can't blame the church anymore.

I think the advert is a bit tame from stories I have heard off women.

It makes it seem like only men can do sexual assaults which isn't fair, okay it portrays a male victim but all the antagonists are guys when both genders are very much cable of commiting sexual assualt

I believe it is excellent and real which is the frightening part

One thing I would say is that the whole concept of the roles is nothing new but about time someone called it out

There are too many disrespectful people of both genders out there especially when drink consumed

Respect for others should be a mindset of all

I would say that is about correct

Not sure there are any women jailed in Ireland for sexual assault at this moment in time

Maybe I’m wrong but doubt it

They show 1 man being sexually assaulted, which out of 5 cases is over represented.

I was sexually assaulted by women and whenever I talk about it people make fun of me and laugh. So I would be the first to call the advert out, but simple fact is, it happens to women the most.

The advert does ignore gay sexual assault, man on man and woman on woman, and trans issues, but it clearly says women assaulting men can happen.

I think it happens less than men being assaulted by other men though.

Probably right mostly because in the cases of sexual assualt the laws of this country actually make it impossible for a woman to be the attacker couple that with the fact men are less like to report an assualt out of shame (look at domestic abuse cases) there's probably very few records of male victims of a female sexual assualt but that does not mean it doesn't happen

Absolutely 100% agree but it’s a very small percentage I’d imagine where a woman is the perpetrator .... sad part is most bloke would live to be sexually assaulted by a woman and give in thinking they got lucky

There is no shame in calling out a woman on it and being a victim don’t make you less a human being

Respect

Unless I saw a different ad there was a female on male and a male on male scenario.

They will never be able to cover everyones experiences and I think of they tried it would be overinflated and have less impact.

Its not perfect but as I said in my first post it might start some conversations

Well I posted on here and another fetish site about being sexually assaulted by women and I got messages from the men calling me names, calling me a lucky bastard, asking what I was complaining about.

Same guys act like white knights on the forum when a woman posts about it.

Just the way it is, just have to accept when it happens a guy its still a joke.

I still believe what happens women is way worse though.

Not sure if I would call it sexual harassment but I’ve had female co workers who tried every trick in the book to get me into their bed. Sexy chat , touching, the usual way they touch their own hair and face when they fancy someone , rubbing breasts against my arms as they move past me, clothes leaving nothing to the imagination, all tripled in intensity during work/ social functions . But is this sexual harassment or a woman who just wants me?

I think no matter who you are a man or a woman. No one has the right to force themselves on you . Sexual harassment is abuse no matter what your gender is . I do think its more difficult for a man to report it as attitudes are still all wrong. We tend to be a lot more sympathetic towards women and thats something that should change. Also false accusations are something that courts should come down hard on as they also can ruin lives.

Its sexual harassment if you didn't want it, and said no and it continued.

If it happened a woman she would get a huge pay day out of it.

Stuff like this can affect both men and women very badly cause they feel if they complain they may lose their job, and if they lose their job their life may be ruined, so the pressure to just play along and not complain can be huge.

"What do yeah think of the new sexual harassment add on tv ??"

I think it is very good and a great start. It could also shown another side for personal responsibilty for safety. Not just for women everyone. Thinking twice about leaving drink unattended, how much you drink, walking home alone rather than getting taxi, etc. I know we should be able to do these things but in todays world we have to be realistic.

My town

Sexual assault happens to both men and women, I've not seen the ad but am I right in thinking it only shows if from womans scenarios? If so than that is wrong. I do believe that more awareness should be giving as so many people have suffered and feel they have to keep quiet and feel ashamed.... any awareness is good but show it can happen to anyone Male or female.

No it shows from a mans perspective too, just for some reason some people on the forum thought they should have shown more men.

The fact is, 70% of women end up sexually assaulted in university. So mens problems are dwarfed by womens, and they do get a mention in the advert.

No its really very simple... if you said no or asked for it to stop then its harrassment. And any employer would take your complaint seriously.

It doesnt impact workplace romance because prople who are romantically attracted to each other do not behave like preditors and respect the other persons boundries and that no mean no.

Again absolutely agree

I saw a case a few years ago and it was beyond bizzare as the victim had diary entries from 10 years ago showing and recording what happened to her ... she said she recorded at the time yet it was proved the alleged perpetrator was living in a different country for 6 months at the time

Torture for 3 years the case was going on ...

Haven't seen the ad but I won't deny that I've seen both men and women take liberties with the opposite sex.

The biggest problem in my opinion why it may not be taken as seriously as it should be is the fact that it's not viewed equally.

A man touches a woman in an inappropriate manner and it's pretty much condemned by all.

A woman does the same and it's just her having a bit of fun or a flirt. Not in all cases but the majority of the time.

A first hand example is one night I was waiting at the exit of a nightclub while my friend said her goodbyes. A group of women walked past me and one grabbed my crotch.

Despite how some might say I was lucky, I didn't feel comfortable and was actually a bit taken back by how no one batted an eyelid.

As an experiment I asked the bouncer what's he gonna do about it, as he saw it happen, and he replied, "What's wrong, are you bent or something?"

My point is how do you determine sexual assault? Is it based on the act, or is it based on the person's response?

In general men have no problem with women groping them so is it assault if they like it?

In todays society assault is unfortunately overlooked a lot of the time due to the volume of idiots shouting assault at every opportunity just like people calling others nazis and fascists if they have the temerity to have a different opinion. The metoo movement has seriously diluted actual cases of assault due to the sheer fuckwittery of some of the claims.

Equality until it doesn't suit too.

I was in Dublin out with a friend, introducing me to a few of her friends, not all fabbers. Late on in the night I found I was keeping the eye out for a few as I don't drink much. One came over to me and without so much as a word pulled my shirt and slipped her hand down inside and grabbed my ball.

My reaction took her back as I grabbed her writs and pulled her hand out, held it in a lock and looked at her and shook my head. She struggled to free her hand but I held it to make my point. (She's a Dome) and found out later from my friend that apparently I had offended her by my holding her arm back in front of her bf. WTF.

I was totally surprised that she thought it was ok to walk up and grab my balls in a public bar and then worse to take offense that I'd restrained her arm in front of her bf. Needless to say she got blocked when I was on fab next. Created a couple issues with my friend as a result.

Above poster -Sorry to hear about that. Organised meets need good communication and ground rules to be successful. But that was awful.

On the plus side, you were strong enough to hold her off. I think that's why groping by men of women gets more attention, and to be fair, rightfully so. Women are much more vulnerable to it on nights out and in general because of how it is normalised.

"Is it a bit over the top?????

Not belittling any experiences anyone has had but in my experience I wouldnt have thought it was as big a problem as made out on the add

I would never have being in that position and would like to think id never have put someone in that position

Tip of the iceberg. We have a huge problem with Sexual Harassment. The way guys speak to women here makes it very clear no?"

This site is not a microcosm of life so no it doesn't make it clear. What is becoming increasingly clear is the number of false accusations that hinder the progress in actual assault cases.

"In todays society assault is unfortunately overlooked a lot of the time due to the volume of idiots shouting assault at every opportunity just like people calling others nazis and fascists if they have the temerity to have a different opinion. The metoo movement has seriously diluted actual cases of assault due to the sheer fuckwittery of some of the claims. "

True. That brett kavanaugh set up was a shambles.

It was a social night out with friends. She knew I was on fab but that gave no excuse. Think her Dome persona needed a reality check. Irony was later in the evening I had to calm her bf down as she was kissing a young stranger she'd just met.

"Haven't seen the ad but I won't deny that I've seen both men and women take liberties with the opposite sex.

And right there you have nailed the problem, that if men do complain, they are mocked.

Equality until it doesn't suit too.

So glad you blocked her...teach her a lesson eh?

So the a question i think this debate has raised is how many sexual assaults carried out by women on men go unreported and how does that impact the reported figures? (i.e. 70% of sexual assaults are perpretated against women) Take for example a guy wearing a kit, how many women would think its ok to a) ask if the wearer is going commando? or b)reach under the kilt "to check"?

Should or would that be considered sexual assault? and would it be considered sexual assault if the gender was reversed?

Should it really make any difference whatever gender?

I've been sexually harassed by off the cuff comments a handful of times in my life. I know girls who get it multiple times daily.

Has nothing to do with gender. There's a lot of things go on here that could easily fall into sexual harassment under the UK law.

Sexual harassment is unwanted behaviour of a sexual nature which:

violates your dignity

makes you feel intimidated, degraded or humiliated

creates a hostile or offensive environment

You don’t need to have previously objected to someone's behaviour for it to be considered unwanted.

A bit of humour.

Being braless in the shop few hours ago. Black top so nothing is visible but the cold wind made my nipples hard

I've spoken with one of the personnel of the shop and he couldn't resist to look at my breasts.

Should I report him?

Once when I had handle bars, and a girl touched it in the nightclub - and I don't like strangers touching wherever part of my body(= respect), unless I let them - so I straightaway grabbed her boobs, and she seemed surprise for my bravery, and walked away ashamed, because I told "this is my personal and private space" followed by an innocent smile.

Same rights to everyone, period.

All these fears and limitations are cultural things created by the ones who have problems with it, meanwhile many of us don't...

Is looking the new offensive now? It's crazy the way the world is going.

Just read the latest. Manufacturers are being challenged in court to remove 'male' and 'female' labels describing their fittings. Advocates for fluid neutral groups are calling for an immediate change "as the industry shouldn't just assume a fittings gender"

I know what you meant. Its not okay. I had the situation on the business trip. Being on the meeting with clients and one of them accidentally touched my knee. Be precise his knee touched mine. His face was red. He said sorry and asked me for a quick chat afterward.

Another time the same situation but the client just smiled, didn't say sorry or anything else. I have asked him for a quick 1 to 1 and explained him it was unacceptable behaviour and I don't tolerate it.

It was a joke regarding reporting this poor lad

Seriously, I don't have any problem til someone will touch me without my permission. No means no. That's why I avoid pubs and night clubs. If am going out, its always with my friends. There are too many d*unk people who lost their minds and control Too risky

Mine wasn't about you reporting lol. My mind ran to 10 yes in the future hence the rest of my comment. There's a slow erosion of reverse respect going on imo.

So reverting to my earlier question (and i in no way want to diminish the severity of the issue) from a statistical perspective " the a question i think this debate has raised is how many sexual assaults carried out by women on men go unreported and how does that impact the reported figures? (i.e. 70% of sexual assaults are perpretated against women)" ? I would be interested in hearing opinions on the accuracy of the statistics in this context

Stats are only as accurate as the reports. If guts reported it more the stats would obviously change and there would be a response accordingly. However, most guys deal with it themselves, whether laugh it off, sort it directly or by other means. The severity of it, not so much if offensive would most likely determine if reported. Culture has many facets that influence reporting too.

Sexual harassment against men by women as opposed by other men is taken less seriously in our society and at work too. Until this changes the stats will still be quite misleading in comparisons between men and women, just an opinion but that's been my experience.
