"Let me tell you a story," says the other man,
"Imagine you wake up in a bed with two people next to you.

I truly find it amazing the amount of people who get offended on behalf of others whether the others wish this to happen or not. The world is going to shit but it's a crude joke that irks people more than most things. jesus wept (disclaimer I do not believe in jesus) |

I find someone making jokes at the expense of minorities offense , making gay jokes like this perpetuates negative stereotypes and it reflects poorly on the person making them . |

I've read the joke over a few times now and I fail to see the homophobic element. Could be that I need more sleep but it doesn't mention anything bad or against the Gay man or the female or for that matter the sexual orintation of the male in the middle. So where is the insult? Where is the homophobic aspect and where is your anger coming from. Did you find it gross that 3 people were in the same bed? |

Obviously I am not a gay man .
Gay jokes aren’t just an issue for gay people: they’re an issue for anyone who cares about a gay person. Being the butt of gay jokes made someone I care about ill .
This causal use of homophobic jokes which reinforces a typical stereotype is offensive and unfortunately apparently acceptable here.

I couldn't help but overhear two guys in their mid-twenties while sitting at the bar last night.
One of the guys says to his buddy: "Man you look tired."
His buddy says: ?“Mate I'm exhausted. My girlfriend and I have sex all the time. She’s after me 3 and 4 times a day.? She wants sex before breakfast, sex before I go to work, when I come home she’s tearing my shirt off as I come through the door.
She’s got her hands down my pants after dinner. She even joins me in the shower almost every night. I just don't know what to do."
A fellow in his 50’s sitting a couple of stools down, also overheard the conversation.
He looked over at the two young men and with the wisdom of years said,
"Marry her. That'll put a stop to all that shit!" |
