Not according to google it’s part of the United Kingdom but Britain is only England, Scotland and Wales. That’s why they say Great Britain and Northern Ireland its separate countries or Islands |

"United Kingdom is also a term as is Great Britain but the said terms connect them all as the British Isles classing them all together still meaning Ireland is still seperate
Not that it really matters considering we can all have fun no matter if its North, South, East or West "
"British Isles" is not an approved term these days at all. "These islands" is the term favoured in official circles, or just Britain and Ireland. |

No, there have never been rubber bullets fired in great Britain. Northern Ireland was never a part of great Britain ever.
They are allowed to call themselves British only for political reasons.
They are part of the united kingdom.
The united kingdom of Great Britain AND northern Ireland. |

"And again also all meaning the same thing "
Not quite. The term "British Isles" was a political term rather than a geographical one. Britain is the island formerly populated by the people known as the Britons. The island of Ireland was never populated by the Britons. It was very much an implication of ownership. |

And also Ireland was never populated by Celtic people, or has no DNA link to Celtic people.
The only Celtic tribe are the Welsh.
The Welsh and the English are actually blow ins from the EU and voted to leave the EU.
The scots, picts, and northern Irish are all largely original inhabitants of the islands and voted to stay in the EU.
Thats pretty interesting if you ask me. |

So then it is all a lie that Ireland and N.Ireland are separate and that N.Ireland is not ruled by the Queen and that we spend British sterling???
Also i didnt realise anyone used plastic bullets or any form of bullet at all any where in the world as to determine any country or Islands |

Girl I get it your proud fair play but others are just as proud. This debate was about where an earthquake happened the other night nothing to do with history or politics. The earthquake happened in Donegal and Fermanagh if you want to be precise it happened up north so the egit was right in being corrected. He wasn’t corrected for being British or Irish or anything else. The debate that’s going on now is childish and ridiculous and wish admin would pull it |

"I can't remember exactly but were rubber/plastic bullets/baton rounds not fired during the Toxteth and Brixton riots circa late 70's & early 80's?"
No idea, during the london riots the British police said that rubber bullets have never and would never be used by them in great britain.
I remember it clearly because someone asked "what about northern ireland?" and they dismissed the question "thats not part of great britain".
However you may be right, I'm just going off that interview, didn't look into it further. |

Yes i am proud as im sure are you along with alot of others and yes this is totally getting out of context to the first posting and shouldnt even be what is discussed on this forum.
More thought should definitely go in to comments made to stop so many misinterpretations |

"I can't remember exactly but were rubber/plastic bullets/baton rounds not fired during the Toxteth and Brixton riots circa late 70's & early 80's?"
no, I looked into it, plastic bullets were only approved for use in England and Wales in 2001, they have only ever been used once and it was not riot control it was a targeted shot at someone with a knife who had a hostage and that was 2002. It was one of the newer rifle rubber bullets and not a riot control round.
So the interview was right. 98,503 shot in the north though in the 70s-80s. |

utter bollox! Rubber bullets had been used at the local dance at the local county jail and at the BBC top of the pops studios in 1973....10cc fired them
but yes no reports of them fired in anger on mainland britainshire |
