Ok not that I struggle but not that I'm good at it either we all hear couples and girls on their high horse saying before you ask I'm fine it's going good we are good etc so. That being said all well in good in what they dont want to be asked/messaged. And obviously interests aside people ignoring your likes etc. How do you recommend people initiate contact in the first basis. To be honest I feel the above is only smoking mirrors unless theres an attraction. But I've been wrong before. So ladies and couples lay it out how should others go about contact ????? |

Ok...read their profile and see what they want. You must remember cpls and women get alot of mail so dont take it personally if they decide not to reply. if they arent seeking a man then why bother mailing them.I think original mails can be fine but just be yourself,a simple introduction with abit of your personailty showing in the message is important. Its no different than if you were on a night out,how would you approach someone...youd be nice and respectful. If they are interested they will reply and if they arent then don't worry. |

'Hi, how are you' is the kind of superficial nod and greeting you give someone in passing. It's not really a conversation starter, as is demonstrated when someone responds 'fine and you?' and you say 'grand thanks'... That's usually end of conversation, because you've addressed the questions asked.
It's a lot easier if you're using the forums, because you can continue the discussion of a topic via mail and use that as an opener and an opportunity to get to know someone better.
But for someone who is maybe shy of the forums, I'd say use a conversational topic right in your opening sentence.. Something neutral that will appeal on a personal level without the risk of offending... Maybe mention if you've visited their town area at some time in the past and ask if a pub, restaurant or particular landmark you remember is still there, people feel far more comfortable replying to something like that and it's much easier for a conversation to evolve from there than if you just ask if they've had any fun lately |

usually people will also look at your profile before deciding to reply...your profiles current status update is "Free in the morning any one wanting their ass eaten"....not sure if that will entice someone to be honest. Its just another thing to be aware of. |

Waste of time in my opinion. Been online for years and if you get one reply from saying "hi how are you" in a week, you will get one reply every two weeks from writing everyone a unique witty message. It just takes so much time, and most wont even read it anyway, and you will have the same success rate lets say 1 in 100, it will just take you longer to message the 100. |

So you want them to write the message for you? |

No I dont I'm asking for those who are quick to denounce hi how are you messages to make a suggestion on an alternative as opposed to critique make it constructive critique. Obviously each person is different. But if you read the original post ironically most men on this thread didn't which I pointed out to a female poster. You will see that's not what I'm asking |
