I think Burnley were the chance of city dropping points but that didn't happen, I cant see them dropping points now and I think wolves might take points off liverpool, the champions league is still there for liverpool but Barcelona ain't gonna be a push over.

Burnley did their best but City are too good

It's all about Messi, Brutey! He could very well finish the tie off in a few minutes.

Fingers crossed he wont turn up

Liverpool haven't lost a 2 legged knock out tie since Klopp took over. They've beat very good sides over the last few years with a team not nearly as good as this years side. Barcelona are a fantastic side also and of course with the front line will provide a stern test and so will the front line of Liverpool to the Barca back line. Having seen Milner, Hendo and Wijnaldum play most of the big games over the last couple of years it has been interesting to see the recent influence of Keita and Fabinho in the side. I'm delighted Liverpool are playing away in the first leg and fancy a decent result at Anfield.

They should be far more competitive games than the utd games were. To be fair to Utd they done well to get to where they did with their current crop.

Spurs will make a balls of it in the semis more than likely. Ajax will play with a freedom again and go all out with their exciting style. Maybe Ajax will go all the way. Who knows.

Always makes me laugh.. those who "know" football and are apparently great at predictions never put their money where their mouth is.

If football went to the script.. people would be millionaires down the bookies. Truth is.. nobody knows. It can be fine margins.. a bad ref call or a slice of luck dictate circumstances of success..

Looking forward to the Barca games and hoping for the best.

Have to laugh at the "what has klopp won" comments. In his 3rd full season Liverpool are on course to finish on 97 points and still probably lose the title. That is INSANE. Man utd even when dominating for all them years never finished with that many points. Just unfortunate to be in competition with the best and most expensive side ever assembled. And could still take them to the last day. Lost a European cup final to a team that have dominated it for the previous 3 years and in another European cup semi final this year with every chance of winning it. I'd much prefer to be in Liverpools position as a football club in this moment in time than utds. Mourinho won them the Europa league 2 years ago. State of rhen now. Winning titles in this day and age isnt everything. Although finishing 6th and having now Europe next year could suit them. Can maybe have a good run in the carbaro cup

It don't matter if you have 110 points at end of season if another team has more than you.People don't remember 2nd place just the winners.13 times United finished above everyone else in premier league we don't bother counting the 2nd and 3ds because no one cares. We might be off the pace right now but United will still probably win it again before Liverpool.

A 3rd major European Final in 3 years is awesome

Lost a European cup final to a team that have dominated it for the previous 3 years and in another European cup semi final this year with every chance of winning it. I'd much prefer to be in Liverpools position as a football club in this moment in time than utds. Mourinho won them the Europa league 2 years ago. State of rhen now. Winning titles in this day and age isnt everything. Although finishing 6th and having now Europe next year could suit them. Can maybe have a good run in the carbaro cup

Kaizer is really proud to be a Red... Can the negative Nancy's say the same when a league cup and FA Cup was ground out over the past 24 months

A 3rd major European Final in 3 years is awesome But where is the trophies for those finals lost all no one will remember who finished second winners got to come first. "

Shiver me timbers, you're all about the glory!

Well done on winning the League and Whatever else Jum

If its all about winning something why have managers like Mourinho, Ancellotti, Mourinho, Ranieri, and Mourinho been sacked?

Mourinho was sacked 3 times because he was not keeping his team's at the top.Ranieri team was in danger of getting relegated after winning the league.Look I'm sure Liverpool supporters are happy to keep getting to finals for now but at what stage do they actually expect to win something.

RTE are doing a poll;

What would be your favourite Champions League Final pairing?

1. Ajax v Barelona

2. Ajax v Liverpool

3. Liverpool v Spurs

4. Spurs v Barcelona

I'd like Ajax v Liverpool. I think it would be a decent match and I have a love for most things Dutch, so If it meant Liverpool losing, I'd be happy for the Amsterdam team.

I'm a Barca fan and have watched every game this season..I'm worried about tonight..Bussquets is having an off season..and if United were any good would of been 2 up before Messi showed up at the Nou Camp..liverpools intensity and high press will upset Barca unless Busquets and Arthur are on it tonight..if Barca click and everyone plays well they'll win..but Liverpool are more than capable of winning tonight..getting caught with pace on the break has been Barca's problem all season and Liverpool break very well..should be a great game to watch..plenty goals..

I'd happily settle for an away goal or two and no injuries.

I know the league is looking further from reach but we need a full squad against Newcastle to keep the pressure on City and give them something to think about.

I wonder what odds you'd get for 0-0 tonight

Paddy has it at 11/1 but also has 2-2 at 11/1.

A teasing bet though is 3-3 at 45/1.

And 4-4 at 200/1

As a Man Utd fan I could make jokes about Liverpool etc but honestly, it would be undeserved.

As a football fan I can say that Liverpool have been hard done by and the scoreline was not a true reflection of how the match was and what Liverpool deserved from it. Some amazing football but just one of those nights for them. My commiserations. Sincerely.

I wonder why no tried man marking him before.

Lets be serious, it was tried many times and wont work.

You need a dynamic unit that can shoot on target and can play football to deal with barca. Total football players in defence. Not 4 big lads that just try push the player over non stop and cant even shoot on target, just their to push people.

Liverpool defence cant play football.

For those saying the result was harsh on Liverpool and they deserved at least an away goal.

They had the chances and didn't take them, where Barca took theirs.

Well to be fair, United fans have been sounding like Liverpool fans for the year and a half.

One of you even showed me a stat a few weeks back that said if the league had started when Ole took over then United would be top of the table.

6 years without a Premiere league title and nowhere near winning it any time soon.

Yeah, ye won trophies, but they are the same trophies you mocked Liverpool for celebrating a few years back.

You'll be saying next year is your year soon enough.

"For those saying the result was harsh on Liverpool and they deserved at least an away goal.

They had the chances and didn't take them, where Barca took theirs.

That's the difference.

It's noting to do with luck or lack of luck.

I still say 4-0 to Liverpool next week though.

Gotta keep the Faith Well let's be honest Liverpool fans have been living in a fantasy world for years. Time to wake up and smell the roses another year without a trophy but sure not to worry next year will be different.

You'll be saying next year is your year soon enough."

Well if we go 30 years without winning the league then you can compare us to Liverpool supporters. But I think most United fans know we not good enough at min but listening to Liverpool fans you would think they had won a room full of trophies under plopp but they haven't even won one.

Well I can't speak for all Liverpool fans but I always knew that with the exception of a few seasons they were never good enough to win anything.

And I stand on saying a team only deserves to win a trophy when they win it.

I will say that after 3 years Klopp has at least put the best team together for years, maybe even decades and we are all happy with the progress.

Stepping stones and all that.

Yep, there's nothing to show for it yet and finishing second means nothing, but it's quite good at the moment compared to what it has been.

And, a team is only as good as their last season.

A single league cup in 13 years is some record, i could never have expected that to happen. Considering united have won 3 proper trophies in less time than klopp has been in charge is damning.

The score board does not tell any lies but I don’t think that the liverpoolers were 3 goals worse than barsalona last night

Still at least 90 minutes of football game time left in this one

Fancy tottingham to win in Ajax

A team is only as good as their last season.

Both will end up with no trophies this season, but Liverpool are far better than United are at the moment.

You lot need to take heed of what you've been telling Liverpool fans for years........Stop living in the past

Anyone heard anything about the new Liverpool bra that's out?

Great support but no cups...

Sorry laid...

I quite like Klopp, surely he should have waited and gone to United. Installed a bit of passion in those heartless, ego fuelled, overpaid ****s...

Ole should sell his entire first 11...bar perhaps; Rashford, Herrera, McTomoney and perhaps Shaw...

Mind you, whose gonna sign Sanches on 500,000 per week ?

Madrid must be mad if they want Dehea or pogba

Its kinda sad seeing United like this. OGS is a gent, all football fans would like to see him do well but the club is a mess. De Gea doesnt want to be there. Sanchez is a joke, Pog is not too much either. Rashford is a quality player and he wont go anywhere. The club needs a whole new restructuring.

As for the Pool, Klopp is the man! A trophy will come ams when it does it'll be amazing.

Its 3 decades since the Reds were Champions. There's been an awful lot of shite throughout that time. This team is quality

What happens happens.... YNWA

Have to hand it to them.

They never cracked and what a class act Vincent Kompany is.

Glad it was him who pulled it out of the bag last night with that screamer of a goal.

Well done City. Worthy title winners.

Who knows though? Maybe, just maybe Sunday might not go according to the script.

Either way, whoever is on top Sunday evening is the team that deserves it.
